I hate my new DU. Where am I supposed to post help for Fallujah?
This is a city in Iraq that is about to be wiped out. Only because from the very beginning all they asked for was to be left alone. The day the citizens of this town marched upon the school our soldiers had holed up in, asking them to please leave. Our soldiers fired into that crowd that day, in April of 2003, many were left dead and many were injured. ]

Are we ever going to start to care for the crimes being committed in our name?

Where, what forum am I supposed to go to now?

1. Kick.
All the soul-searching and group hugs have got to stop at some point. People are dying thanks to this administration, and whining about Kerry losing isn't going to help a thing.

Something to read to get you quite pissed off: http://www.workers.org/ww/2004/falluja1104.php

4. I already knew about the appeal from the citizens of Fallujah.
Good God. Where do we go to make a stand now. The forums are divided and all we can do is cry about Kerry. My ass. A whole town, 200,000+ is about to be leveled, in our name.

I can't scream enough. GOOD GOD, America, WAKE UP!

12. No, its not funny.
In fact it the farthest thing from fucking funny. But that is what this election result has come to. If Bush thought he could have nuked Iraq without political ramifications, he would have done so. Now there are none.

8. What the fuck?
Why should this be pushed into some sub-sub-sub-sub forum so we can whine about Kerry losing undisturbed?

Hate to break it to you, but the rest of the world goes on, regardless of our heartbreak at Kerry losing.

Sorry if this sounds too blunt, but I'm fucking livid right now. Some bastard is whining about Kerry signs being stolen, and after this poster replied wiht something about this, some told him "fuck you." Typical fucking Americans who can't see past their own noses.

3. I have been clamoring about it all day!
I agree.

Here is my thread about it over in the fighting thread.

I suggest a national walkout/strike.

I think we have the numbers to shut the country down until we get our troops home.

Some Terrorists...
The sky has been overcast these last few days. It’s a smoggy, grayish combination of dust, smoke and humidity. I guess it has matched the general mood in many ways- somewhat dark and heavy.

I’ve been very worried about Falloojeh. So worried, in fact, that I find it hard to sleep at night, wondering how the situation will unfold in that troubled area. Things are bad in Baghdad, but they are far worse in Falloojeh. Refugees have been flowing out of the area for weeks now. They’ve been trying to find havens in Baghdad and the surrounding regions.
<snip
I met my first Falloojeh refugees last week.
<snip>
“How is the situation in Falloojeh?” My father asked. We all knew the answer. It was terrible in Falloojeh and getting worse by day. They were constantly being bombarded with missiles and bombs. The city was in ruins. Families were gathering what they could and leaving. Houses were being demolished by tanks and planes. But the question had to be asked.

Umm Ahmed swallowed nervously and her frown deepened. “It’s quite bad. We left two days ago. The Americans are surrounding the city and they wouldn’t let us out using the main road. We had to be smuggled out through another way…” The baby began to whine softly and she tried to rock it to sleep. “We had to leave…” she said apologetically, “I couldn’t stay there with the children.”

10. Not my problem- I voted for Kerry.

I will take no responsibility for the crimes of Bush and the fucking Republicans. I know it sounds jaded and harsh but that is how I feel right now. Bush will do what Bush wants to do. He is a spoiled child with a gun.

11. I'm not sure there's much we can do, I would however like to see the ...
... residents of Fallujah rise up and out the terrorist insurgents on their own. Finger them to authorities. Perhaps our commanders and the Iraqi Prime Minister Iyad Allawi would hold back the reigns of war if those people began helping themselves a bit. Theyr'e not all non-combatants in the city you know.
