Barack Obama for minority leader! Stop taking the black vote for granted!
I know most of you would say he's just a freshman but the man has proven his leadership qualities to me already! This is where Karl Rove beats us, talk about Bush appointing the first black attorney general is already out there. They are chipping away at the African American vote, we MUST take a bold move with the minority leader and stop taking the African American vote for granted. Kerry already lost a lot of the African American votes Gore had.
he wouldnt take it. i live in illinois, and he's a very humble man. in his political career he's already ruffled too many feather by being super ambitious. sadly, we need to give him some time before he takes up the mantle of leadership
17. chpping away: MY ASS! * did poorly among african-americans
as usual. you know what democrats need to address to keep my african-american vote? disenfranshisement. that's how * is "winning" african-american votes :puke:
19. I can't answer your question, but I agree with your gist.
We can't fall for the "cult of personality" anymore. I have a feeling Barack would be awesome too, but we really need to make our choices strategically - not on the basis of feelings.
use your brains. The Senate is an institution of arcane rules and complex traditions. Mastery of the rules is imperative in being an effective leader. You can't just walk in the door and expect to know how the institution works. It's one reason that Frist hasn't been a particularly good Majority Leader by historical standards. Give Obama time to adjust and look to see him in a leadership position in a few years. Meantime, if it's at all possible, I'd love to see him with a seat on Judiciary.
