3. He's a whore, and this proves it!
http://www.vote-smart.org/issue_keyvote_detail.php?vote_id=3433&can_id=S0561103

He voted for the Orwellian-named American Jobs Creation Act of 2004--which was really a multi-billion dollar give away for corporations.

6. one vote makes you a whore?
so Feingold now is too? I am of the thought that your votes over time make you a whore, not one vote.

13. Well, I guess so then
That bill is absolutely one of the WORST bills ever to come through the halls of Congress. How do you feel about that $10 billion going to all those red state 'bacco farmers?

17. Other whores by your standard
Tom Harkin
Barbara Mikulski
Debbie Stabenow
Mark Dayton
Chuck Schumer
Russ Feingold

All solid liberals. If the circular firing squad keeps going, pretty soon we'll be left with nobody in the Democratic party.

4. Question for you--did you analyze & draw any conclusions?
There are 38 issue categories on that site, with about 300 links total (each a calendar year) to click on, and then one or more links in each calendar year to get to a description of his vote for each one.

Give us a hint--what's your analysis?

5. My analysis?
Edited on Sun Nov-07-04 03:52 PM by JohnKleeb
I am not here to analyize, I am just telling everyone before they jump on Reid's back that they should look at what he's voted on in the past. Perhaps I will anaylize it but my point was for people who are acting like Reid is the worst dem we could have for the job of minority leader should look at his votes, maybe I should have but that wasnt what I meant to.

10. I will tem. depend on the talking heads.
I dodn not read each vote in his entire career, but all I have heard in the last few days is that he's NOT the most articulate member of the Senate, and probably will not be invited on MTP, B, and all the rest, but he is a solid Dem who is famous for fighting for his beliefs and very capable of convincing others to be with him.

Would I love to have a very articulate person in that position? Of course! But I'd rather have a tough guy who is persuasive.

12. Yes I think the Jeffords example is a good example of his ability
to convince others. Believe me I am not doing this because I really like Harry Reid, though I did enjoy his speech at the DNC this summer, I am doing this because I don't like rushes to judgement by people on him.

7. I'm sick of the republican lite controlling our party
He is pro-life, votes for any war he gets a chance to, is anti-immigration, pro patriot act, pro silly ass flag amendment crap, pro tax cuts for the wealthiest. The 55 million people who voted for John Kerry don't support any of that crap. Why the hell can't we have a party leader who represents us for a change??

And why not give the job to a senator in a safe seat like Dick Durbin of IL? I'll tell you why, because the republican lite act by dems in the senate is going to continue. Geez, how to campaign against republican opponents when you pretty much act just like them?

8. He's anti-choice
so he doesn't speak for me, or 51% of the population. Honestly, this party doesn't give a hoot about women's rights. (And I grow weary of the fight.)

11. Here's a link to local information about Harry

Harry's a mixed bag;

he converted to LDS (Mormon) see article, is anti-choice (pro forced pregnancy), is against Yucca Mountain for years, well, read the article.

Don't know what to tell you folks, we've been dealing with him and against him and tolerating him for years.

He's all we've got as far a "powerful" "democrat" here in NV.

edited to add: in point of fact, he is a politician in the Shakespearean sense of the word.
