Is it possible that Florida might actually be our Saviour?
There is a move by the southern Baptist to ban Gay marriage in Florida ( http://www.365gay.com/newscon04/11/110704flaBan.htm ). It will be a tough fight. But one thing I do knew for sure many here hate Homosexuals but right up there on that list also is Southern Baptist!

Florida may be a barely red State But I just don't see this happeneing. At least I pray to God that he at least leaves me what little hope I have left.

1. After this week, I have no faith at all
in the "wisdom" and "common sense" of American voters, and nothing would surprise me anymore. The bigotry and hatred and radical mean-spiritedness I've seen in voting and heard coming out of people's mouths this week has been unbelievable, to the point where I'm wondering if I've woken up in a sci fi novel. I'm sorry, but I just don't trust the voters anymore and wouldn't put anything past them.

5. Check how many dems voted against gays on Tues
Shitloads of them. Hell, if you're gay or lesbian and dem, you can't even trust your own party, let alone the voters as a whole.

4. No, I think they will slaughter gays in Florida on this
In Florida, gays and lesbians don't even have the right to adopt a child let alone get married. Even if it's their own child concieved through in-vitro. This is just more and more gay bashing for no purpose. The chance of gays and lesbians winning the right to marry in Florida is nil.

If recall correctly, we barely won the ballot issue on whether to repeal non-discrimination laws against gays in heavily dem Miami-Dade county several years back, which is one of the few places in Florida where you can't fire someone or deny them housing simply because they are gay.

I wish you were right, but I think you are very wrong.
