what does it take?
I was in my local bar last night and a woman I know came in
with friend of hers visitng LA from Texas. She was a flight a attendant, mid-40s, married to a doctor. After we talked for a while it came out that she is incredibly pissed off at her "friends" and townsfolk who are constantly telling her that she is going to hell unless she accepts Jesus, etc, etc, spouting off about *, morality,Jews, the terrorists...you get the picture.

She even got into a loud argument with a bonehead who frequents the bar and is always proclaiming whatever Rash Limbaugh's talking points
were that day...she ended up calling him a sack of shit who should marry a Morman so he wouldn't be threatened by strong women.

So...the closer. After all of this ranting about the religious nuts and the small minded intolerance and the shrill bullshit and the fact that she doesn't even want to see any of these people anymore, I asked her who she voted for.

Bush, because she was afraid that Kerry's health plan would
somehow hurt her husband's lucrative practice. She explained, a bit ashamed, that she wanted to maintain a wealthy lifestyle so she could send money back to her dirt poor parents who had put through school
and was fearful that Kerry was going to socialize medicine and take all of her dough..

Sheesh...

1. i dont think so
i dont think that they are so afraid of medicine not being lucrative or socialized or whatever, i think they are reacting to the meme about Dems=Lawyers=Malpractice=OhFuckPWNED.

Doctors tend to get worked from both sides for some reason. Maybe its cause they have all that money?.

2. Probably so ,but
the main point was she peronally understood just how unpleasant and even dangerous it can be to live in a community of loudmouthed
robotic bigots, yet she still found something to fear
in her own ignorant assessment of Kerry's policies.

This is gonna take some work.

3. the other thing
of course, is that since they are rich they get mucho tax breaks under the chimp.

We've all seen it before, the lower-middle class play right along - to the neanderthal knuckle-dragging pigfuckers who would actually benefit from Democratic rule "socialism" is "when you tax people".

It all comes down to education folks. The South has known it all along, you want solidarity? keep your people retarded.
