Anybody see that AEI Liar on CSPAN this morning?
He was so full of shit. His name was Rubin I believe and he said he decided to go to Iraq to investigate black market arms sales instead of just reading the newspaper accounts. He was working on his PhD dissertation from Yale, big pudgy faced white guy who might be Jewish. And he was prancing around Iraq in April with his "Iraqi friends" going into back alleys to take notes on how many Kalashnikov's were available.

uh huh.

Of course CSPAN was fair and balanced again today and also had on that Fund schmuck from WSJ. :eyes:

1. At least if you watch them
you'll know what lies they are spreading. It's one of the only reasons I watch television anymore.

For truth I turn to DU (and a multitude of listserves and friends). And fortunately I've turned on a lot of my friends to DU and so now I catch some stuff that used to fall through the cracks since so many of us are reading now.

:hi: to everyone in larryville!
:toast: to our new Democratic office holders from Douglas County.

2. I'm almost ready to switch off C-SPAN
at least for a while.

Since the election, I've been treated to Grover Norquist, John Fund, etc., etc., etc.

Any day now, I fully expect to tune in and be both visually and orally assaulted by Limbaugh.

5. Yet there are DUers who keep telling me CSPAN is balanced.
I don't think having Mark Crispin Miller on once a year counts as balanced.

They will surely eliminate any real liberals from their lineup now and they'll probably change their call-in lines to:

SUPPORTS THE PRESIDENT: xxx-xxx-xxxx
SUPPORTS THE PRESIDENT, BUT USED TO BE A NON-SUPPORTER: xxx-xxx-xxxx

11. Their whole phone system is awful You hold LONG DISTANCE
for 20 minutes after dialing for an hour trying to get through, and then get cut off in mid sentence..then watch the "guest" spin your words into oblivion, or just not answer at all..:grr:

If c-span really wanted to be a public service, they could go a long way to "healing" the great divide..

The reason that so many of us are pissed is that NO ONE airs our grievances.. We do online, but that's about it. The occasional LTTE, once in a while someone doe not get cut off at cspan,,but for the most part it';s as if we do not exist..

Cspan should have an entire day of call ins from JUST disgruntled dems..Give evenyone 2 minutes to say their piece..

They could make a cd rom and sell it to make money :)

7. Not a dupe.. I could not bring myself to even watch cspan this week
Somebody's got to.. Poor you :(

If Fund was a democrat, he would have lost his job permanently, and been driven from the public eye.. he's be writing obituaries in Selma Alabama..

but because he's a repube, he got "some time off", and was welcomed back with open arms.

9. Bleh, no more.
I gave it one last shot this morning. First time I had it on since the so-called election. Why do those guys all look alike? I swear Fund and the AEI guy could be brown shirt brothers.

I cannot believe how HORRIBLE TV is now. I spent 2 minutes on CNN and their so-called news was all, ALL, every single second was about entertainment and products. ONE BIG FREAKING COMMERCIAL.

Who watches them? I don't know anyone who does anymore.

8. Don't you think that they make THEMSELVES available - there are so
many think tanks and foundations that exist for the purpose of cunning and propaganda - they are the strategists of the agenda to eliminate the Democratic Party and change or eliminate the people who support them by conversion of sublimation.

What do you think the ratio is of Democratic think tanks and foundations compared to Republican ones? 2 for Dems and 98 for Pubs?

The trouble is that Democrats are so darn lacking in insight about what is happening to us and those who do know won't speak for fear of losing votes or being scoffed at when they do get on TV.

How is a person like Podesta who started Center for American Progress (?) supposed to do his work there and appear on C-Span - there are few spokespeople for us - they won't let Jesse Jackson on. Carter and Cuomo have other jobs. Schroeder and Ferraro get in on little soundbites of exchanges - they and a few others sometimes get on so that they can be the target of right wing abuse by the right wing host and their right wing paid or unpaid guest expert.

C-Span might listen to claims of one-sidedness- but if you were the scheduler at C-Span wouldn't you take the easy route and let those propagandists, who are knocking at their door, in?

10. Yes, I suppose it is much easier to recycle guests.
But their Mission Statement (Brian Lamb loves to remind us all the time) is to inform the American public about PUBLIC POLICY and our government. I'm sick of him whining he gets it from both sides.

I wish FAIR or whoever would do an analysis of their guest list and show the real truth. They have been one-sided for a long time and they continually have a majority of those propagandists you mentioned without any opposition.

Maybe the leftists are working hard at their jobs, but that seems to be the problem. They need to make it their job doing the circuit the way these guys do. If they can't get on a show...write them up in an OpEd...that would surely not please CSPAN to be outed.
