Wesley Clark
So will Gen.Wesley Clark run? It says that he is 90% sure he is going to run, but when is he going to come out with a statment?

3. September 19
is his self-imposted deadline. He will give a speech in Iowa and has stated he'll make a decision by that day. Personally, I don't have a clue what his decision will be, although it seems announcing he's a Democrat is pointless unless he's running.

6. He's giving a speech in Knoxville on Sept 13th at the Democratic
Party Truman dinner.

What's he planning to say there? Is he just going to be coy?

8. barring a Gore or Hillary surprise
Clark will run.I look for a announcement either 9/7-9 or9/12 he won't announce on 9/11.This has played out for nearly a year.It has just been in the spotlight for about 2 1/2 months. It's not too late for him.He polls midway in the pack(nationally)and he hasn't spent any money. What do you think he will poll when he starts spending money and campaigns on the stump. The race will be between Clark and Dean and I think Clark wins mainly because he will have broader appeal and a higher electability factor(better chance to carry southern states),Dean will not carry 1 southern state. The democrats do not have the luxury to concede any state in 2004 so we have to get at least 2 southern with Clark is see a chance to win Ark.,La.,Tn.,Ga.,and N.C.It is absolutly essential we get at least 2 of these states.Dean has viturally no chance in any of these states unless Bush makes a horrible mistake.People could vote for Clark and still have a clean conscious.Myself personally I'm from the south and if Dean were to be the nominiee I'd vote for him and it would not bother me at all,let me make that clear.I am not a disliker of Dean,I admire him very much. But the sorry ass reality here in the south,Democrats like Dean are not in high demand and I think it sucks.

4. I went to go buy his book tonight
There's only two bookstores, unless you count the Christian bookstore too, here in my town and BOTH OF THEM had sold out of the copies of his book.

That is big, big news and a very encouraging sign in a small town out on the pararie here in Nebraska. This state is not just Husker red, it's a red electoral state big time. Clark is the only one with the wild brass cahones to take this state and the fact that his books have all been bought up here warms my heart.

I'm hoping he will announce tomorrow on Mahr, I doubt it but it would be nice. Sometime before the 19th, I'm guessing sooner rather than later.

11. Read the book...
I came away with many insights into what goes on behind the scenes in a war. The chain of people signing off and signing on to any decision is overwhelming. I snork when I read about the finger pointing at Clark for a particular move. Any General must get clearance from DoD, the JC, and the White House. In Clark's case multiply that by the same organizations in each NATO country...then just for fun, add in the NATO establishment itself. Oh_I forgot to mention getting the Vatican to declare the operation a "just war."

Because of the time differences, I became convinced that Clark doesn't sleep. There is also a sense of who he is. Not so much from anything he says about himself, but rather because of his word choice and style.

Finally, the book is a very strong contrast to the regime's approach to the expense, wasteful, and illegal monkey mess we now find our country in.

Anyway, my recommendation: read the book.

9. Who knows
But I wish he'd get on with it. I haven't really committed to a candidate yet but I'll support Clark if he runs.

12. Could happen
and if it does, I hope he keeps speaking and supporting the other candidates. The Democratic Party needs him in one way or another.

I hope you're right. I really think Clark has the best chance of beating the Resident. If he runs, I'm there!
