Ret. Marine Gen. Zinni blasts Bush for failed Iraq policy.....
http://www.commondreams.org/headlines03/0905-01.htm

I hope France and Germany comes through with help, but not until they rub asshole Bush's nose in it.

Did anyone see Powell address the press after going to the UN? These morans still don't get it. Soo arragant, soo blantantly pathetic a behavior to have towards the ONLY political/humanitarian body that has the potential to bail your ass out of the fire. Incredible hubrus.

1. there is a element
with-in the navy and marines that saw the folly of bush`s war in iraq.i`ve been reading proccedings magazine for the last year and there are alot of questioning of the bush-rummy military. this last issue had an article about what could have gone wrong if the iraqi`s were capable of mounting a creditable defense against the movements to bagdad. also pointed out that if they could have disrupted the electronic part of the war we also would have been screwed. the irians or koreans won`t be push overs. there seems to be alot of people in these services that aren`t happy with their "fly boy" deserting president....

2. General Zinni is very, very competent
and Bush has ignored his advice for years. Zinni is a real foreign policy expert and i trust his judgement on many issues.

3. What was great abput this was he was speaking to military officers
Marines and Navy and there was enthusiastic applause and they were requesting tapes and cds after the talk.

4. Of course, this will be lost on the knee-jerk anti-generals
but here's another example of what folks have been telling them: Generals tend to be more dovish than their wingnut civilian controllers for many reasons. Zinni articulates a few of them. Great link.
