I don't think Jay is of any political persuasion (uninformed, tv watching "av'rruge murican" maybe). He's a ho. He just wants to be wherever he thinks the wind is blowing. So in that case, I think it it is very indicative that he's bashin' W.

Leno had a wonderfully sharp political wit in his salad days, playing dingy storefront comedy clubs and Elks Lodge smokers. He was one of the best.

It's only since he took the Tonight Show gig, moved from New England to California, and started getting rich that he's gotten spongy and lazy. Part of that is that his jokes have to be vetted by a bunch of corporate suits before he ever gets on the air. Part of that is that he wants to keep a good thing going, and it doesn't pay to piss off the power structure.

I'm glad this thing has gotten so big that he's been allowed to let fly. I've missed him.
