Hubby asked me last night - So where was Carter?
With The 2 shrubs and Clinton meeting in the WH yesterday about tsunami aid, he wondered where Jimmy Carter was? I had an immediate response of "he probably told shrub to pound salt". After Carter's speech (an uncharacteristic one) at the DNC convention, I think Mr. Carter doesn't think much of shrub. It must frost his butt to watch George the pretender Christian ruin our country's reputation.

I say good for Carter for refusing to be used by this administration. And why the hell is Clinton working with them?

1. Carter's been slamming the Chimp pretty hard...
...over the Iraq mess. My guess is that it's an intentional swipe at JC...

he wasn't invited because of the things he said about shrub during the campaign.

31. I knew it!
I knew it had to be some petty shit.

Dittums feewings got hurt, and he can't rise above it for a historical-grade international disaster? What a poor excuse of a man!

3. not sure....
But Jimmy is getting pretty damn old. He may be ill (it's that time of the year) or he may be experiencing some other type of difficulty. I don't think he would not offer his services for political reasons.

Bill (the big dog) Clinton will work with the devil himself if he thought it would ease the suffering of tsunami victims.
I think that is a good thing.

9. President Clinton is pretty weak & ill himself
Maybe JC is the only one without some serious karma to work off in full view of the public. The other two guys have a blow job and secret abductions and murders to atone for.

8. Not from many of us anymore. Not after waht he said lauding Bush. He will
never get a dime of my money. I will contribute independently but never again to support him. He should go pound salt. And I once admired him. This is too depressing.Everytime I feel optimistic, someone in our own party destroys the optimism.

20. I keep seeing this posted
Clinton wants Kofi Anans job

So correct me if Im wrong because I want to clear this up once and for all

Is there a rule that no one can be Secretary General if they are a citizen of a security council nation.

Im sure that I heard someone say that there is, in which case Clinton cant get that job.

23. This site gives a good explanation
Edited on Tue Jan-04-05 11:56 AM by TyeDye75
Although there is no rule against security council nation's citizens becoming Secretary General, a protocall of geographical rotation suggests that the next SG is likely to be from Asia.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/UN_Secretary-General

So Clinton isnt completely out of the question but I think China Japan or South Korea might have something to say about it.

Carter has more humanity in his pinky finger than Shrub will ever have in his whole evil body.

18. I don't think Carter has much respect for Bush family and
George knows not to even call. He did not look happy walking with them at the Clinton Library. Carter is a true statesman. Remember how he was vilified for being religious. A TRUE man of his faith.

25. Kaddish ...
is a Jewish prayer that is said during the mourning period. People come to the house of the person that has died and stay for hours (sometimes days). All the mirrors are covered. Friends and neighbors bring food so the family doesn't have to handle that during the mourning period. Some rearlly conservative Jews even wear torn clothing. When one of my Jewish relatives died we were given small pieces of torn cloth to attach to our clothes.

On another point: President Carter is one of the finest men that has ever been president. He is a true Christian. I guess I am one of the few people that will admit that I even voted for him in 1980 during the election. I would still vote for him now even though Reagan won by a landslide.

Former Presidents Carter and Clinton are superstars all over the world. Former President George Bush is not.

26. PJ O'Rourke said a funny thing about Carter.
He was on a UK panel game just before the 2004 election. Ian Hislop asked him (referring to Kerry): "But aren't you looking forward to having a president with a three-digit IQ?"

PJOR said: "Nah, we tried that with Carter. It didn't work out. We're a two-digit IQ kinda country."

Not very nice to skip Clinton like that, since WJC was brainier than brain soup, but funny.

Carter was an amazing President, though. A brilliant man. Not a great politician, in some ways, but a wonderful man. A Carter second term is one of the most appetising "what-ifs" there is.

32. Before I could vote in 1980
- in Florida but in the Central Time Zone Area - the election had been called for Reagan. I still voted for Carter - a man who led with the Declaration Of Independence rather than the Monroe Doctrine.

34. I agree with your other point.
I also voted for Carter, and would do so again with pleasure. My respect for President Carter increases every time I hear something about him.

If Reagan had not undone most of President Carters energy policies, we would not be in some of the messes we are now in. Our dependence on oil would have been severely diminished. With very little research on alternative energy being done now, we are more than 25 years behind where we could have been under Carter's plans.

I am an agnostic, but I can appreciate a true Christian, and that is what Carter is.

33. Carter and those two organizations
are dead as far as * is concerned.

Sometimes, when a relative has greatly offended another (the case I know about involves a double murder), the offended relative will say Kaddish and the offender ceases to exist (metaphorically).
