Everytime I post on Yahoo boards...
Edited on Thu Jan-06-05 03:51 PM by UdoKier
Using the profile that shows I live in San Francisco, I inevitably get (along with the obvious San FAGcisco comments) a bunch of garbage about how people are leaving the SF Bay Area and California in droves because they are just so "sick of the liberalism".

So why is it still so damn expensive to live here?

Why are so many people willing to pay through the nose to live here?

This city and this state are AWESOME, and the liberalism is a big part of the reason why.

And we are very proud of our fine senator Boxer today.

2. I have a 2 bedroom basement apartment in the Richmond.
And I live with my wife and 2 kids. For what I pay in rent, I could buy a big house in my hometown in Texas. But I would be shortchanging my kids if I raised them there. They have fantastic schools, wonderful parks, and year-round nice weather and exposure to people of EVERY walk of life. I love this city.

3. I work in ALABAMA...
...but live in Tennessee. I don't mind Tennessee folks, they live and let live on politics. But Alabama folks -- who voted 63 percent Bush -- are rabid in their Republicanism. Their FIRST LINE argument is, "If you doan like it, the road runs two ways. Leave."

I sure would like to live a few years in coastal California. But I can't afford it. Heh. I own 25 TN acres with a 2,500 SF house, 40x60 barn, 24x30 shop, 40x40 shop. Cost me $138,000. Property tax is $450 annually.

Heh...I could not buy a CLOSET for that in SF!
