Great festival of democracy????
snip - Reporters at Thursday's round-table also asked Bush about the high price tag for his second inaugural celebration and suggestions the $40 million gala, which is being paid for by private donations — much of it coming from lobbyists and corporations — be scaled down.

"The inauguration is a great festival of democracy," he said. "People are going to come from all over the country who are celebrating democracy and celebrating my victory, and I'm glad to celebrate with them."

And then read this report on the security of the "great festival"

http://www.rense.com/general61/dhe.htm

snip - Dozens of federal and local law enforcement agencies and military commands are planning what they describe as the heaviest possible security. Virtually everyone who gets within eyesight of the president either during the Jan. 20 inauguration ceremony at the U.S. Capitol or the inaugural parade down Pennsylvania Avenue later in the day will first go through a metal detector or receive a body pat-down.
.....

Other instructions given performers include a warning NOT TO LOOK DIRECTLY at Bush while passing the presidential reviewing stand, not to look to either side and not to make any sudden movements.

Wow - so that is what celebrating democracy is all about...unprecedented security and not even allowing yourself to gaze upon Bush....freedom is a wonderful thing. (heavy sarcasm) If THAT is Bush version of democracy - I'd hate to see his version of fascism.

2. Wonder what they'll do if someone suppresses the gag reflex
enough to actually look at him during the parade?
