Number of at-home dads doubles

STEPHEN STEWART January 24 2005

TRADITIONAL roles have been reversed as unprecedented numbers of women choose to become the main breadwinner and thousands of men stay at home, researchers claim.
They have revealed that the number of house husbands in Scotland has doubled since the turn of the millennium, to more than 20,000.
The news comes as separate figures from the GMB trade union show that women workers now outnumber men in half of Britain's local authorities

4. I wish the American press was as forthcoming with these statistics
as your Scottish press seems to be. I know of MANY husbands staying home and working part-time while the wife works full time. Mine is one of them. Not particularly because I want to, but because I found full time employment first. And we are not alone. Many women where I work are in the same situation.
I would LOVE to see stats on this in the U.S.
