The Daily Show was on fire tonight! Let the Bush/Hitler jokes begin...
Edited on Fri Feb-04-05 02:17 AM by Melodybe
I love them, it was sooo good tonight.

If you get a chance catch the repeat tomorrow.

Fox has Hitler and CBS has the crypt keeper, good stuff, high on the sarcasm throughout the episode.

Jon totally dominated the interview with Joe Klein, he handed him his ass! The new meme: neocons are really decepticons.

Wal-Mart = Satan's five and dime

Ha ha

Kick for the Daily Show!

:kick:

1. My Salvation
Jon's report on the SOTU is classic as well.

This show continues to get better and better the more hard-edged it gets.

3. "Ironically, he was a huge fan of CSI"
That really got her, funny stuff.

Tonight is the best episode from the whole week.

Just when I start to worry about them, the folks at the Daily Show remind me of how awesome they are.

I love them!!!

7. Brilliant. Nicely put. If I was an American prog, so would I...
EVERYTHING Jon Stewart does right now stands alone. The liberal movement in the United States IS FUCKING DEAD - except for The Daily Show. It's the road to rehab...

9. Remember when he first took the program?
The "PUNDITS" were all saying that he had a tough road ahead of him, that it would be a challenge living up to the great work already seen on the program by...Craig Killborn!

Craig couldn't wash out Jon's socks. Jon owns DAILY like Carson owns TONIGHT.

Abe Vigoda's little boy is a freaking GENIUS!!!! (And much better looking than his daddy, though he got his wit from him!).

15. I liked Craig
Craig was funny on the Daily Show. He wasn't though when he moved to CBS.
I worried the Daily Show would fall off after Craig left.
Luckily John found a way to improve the show instead.

17. I was skeptical back then, and I loved JS's MTV show.
But man, did he prove me wrong. He has completely erased any memory of Kilborn.

13. Contrary to the above opinions ...
... I was a bit appalled at Joe Klein slobbering over the Iraqi/American women's "hug" and Jon also seemed to think that it was a genuine moment.

I'm not a reporter, but there were plenty of posts HERE yesterday, revealing the Iraqi woman as a GOP plant. So. What was Joe Klein doing yesterday to earn his keep?

19. NBC has the peacock, FOX has Hitler ... Awesome BUT ...
just a little reminder that Stewart is not immune from the pressures from on-high as the Daily Show DID NOT TOUCH the election objection on Jan6.

He had the opportunity to AT LEAST MENTION IT on that Thursday, but they were SILENT.

At least it was allowed THREE SHOWS LATER on the following Wednesday, AND ONLY as a little mention in Lewis Black's rant.

Be careful and realize that even the Daily Show can be locked down -- and that makes me think that the show is ALLOWED to be the voice of comedic DISSENT.

It may be that TDS is very carefully walking a tight-rope which has a chance of being a true leader in the resistance against the Corporatism(tm), but IF they are ultimately subject to kind of political maneuvering that marks EVERYTHING in this day and age, then perhaps TDS does nothing but to succor us "Hopeful Americans" as we're lead down the garden path to the compost incinerator at its end...

(sorry about the all the caps!)

20. Its a comedy show!!!
Its a half hour comedy show with an interview and a segment. They make jokes about a quick batch of things picked because they think they are funny.

If they didnt touch something its probably because no one had a good joke about it.
