Is Joe Biden a Fool?
He says Bush's deceit does not change his views on the worthiness of the Iraq war.

But we now know that the whole rationale for the war was a lie, that Iraq in fact posed no threat to us. We have half our combat force tied down pacifying (at great expense) a nation that was no threat and does not want us.

In Joe Biden's eyes, the maneuvering of the nation into war based on misleading the American people is no problem. No wonder we Democrats are in such a perilous state, with leaders like Biden.

2. Is Joe Biden a fool?
I think so. He's also arrogant. And clueless. I think he really thinks that the job (as President) is his if he wants it. Poor, sad man.

6. no, just a hawk
I don't see it as a conflict for him to say this.

Whatever deceptions Bush used to sell the war doesn't necessarily say anything about the justification for the war.

Just like I think it's valid for pro-war dems, if they choose, to criticize other issues surrounding the war, such as the failed diplomacy and the poor planning, while still maintaining their basic support for the cause.

I would disagree with them, but I don't think it's a contradiction for them to say this.

29. AMEN and hallelujah!
We wouldn't even be talking aobut Smirk today if the democrats had done their job in the 1980's, when I'd like to point out, they controlled BOTH houses of Congress.

Now, some lame ass will come along and make some whiny claim that "the Dems didn't have the numbers or support to...." . Funny, the Repukes sure managed to impeach Clinton over NOTHING with even less.

The Democratic party has been repukes enablers for far too long now.

34. "in DC too long"???
FYI, Biden has never owned a home or rented an apartment in Washington, DC. He has commuted between DC and Wilmington via Amtrak for the last 30 years, so he is far less "Washingtonized" than most members of Congress. When Senate duties kept him in DC, he would stay with one of his brothers who lives in the DC area, or with one of his Senate friends, probably someone like Bill Bradley or Dan Inouye.

One of the big inside-the-beltway raps against Biden was his failure to play the DC game for all these years.

...is to follow the same steps that once brought Senator Henry 'Scoop' Jackson (D-WA) to the White House.

Oops. He didn't even get the nomination....

No AMERICAN, much less TRUE Democratic Senator would put forth such legislation.

Biden is NOT on our side and, IMO, is a TRAITOR to the Constitution.

Edited on Sat Jul-12-03 01:30 PM by Oracle
One can forgive his (let's be polite here) spineless republican ass kissing.) Biden, as all democrats know...the republicans have at their disposal, huge amount of corporte money, corporate media and incredible power of lies, distortion and advance smear tactics, so don't fuck with them.

If Biden doesn't play ball with the Bush team, how's he goona pay his mortgage and bills, how's he going to live without the prestige on not being a Senator?

Think about it from Biden’s point of view…if he just plays ball a little longer he can have a lifetime job in the Senate. And what Bush is doing, is really not all that bad…it’ll pass in a few years and we’ll forget all about it.

What is a bidet?

28. Yes he is....a big one at that
the Joe Biden incident that sticks out in my memory was when he was asked by Tim Russert about the Department of Wiretaps and Muslim Activities (Tom Ridges dept) being used to purse those Texas Dems. This was at least a week after the story broke, he said he knew nothing about it and couldnt comment on what he didnt know and the topic turned into a joke. I couldnt believe my ears.
