A great way for liberals to reclaim the name
I was driving down the highway yesterday and I saw a bumper sticker that read "I fish and I vote". This gave me an idea. What if all the liberals were to have something like that on their cars.

Maybe:

I am liberal and I vote

I am liberal and I care and I vote

I am liberal and I care

I am liberal and I love my country

or something like that.

Now we all have a bumper sticker that says something like that. It would create two things. First politicians will see we have numbers and not a group to be ignored. Secondly it would reclaim the word liberals from the hands of the sh1thead conservatives. No longer would liberals be some fanged creature the righties portray. Rather liberals would be your friends, family, neighbors and coworkers.

1. I'm not afraid to be called a "liberal."
I wish Kerry would have answered the same way with that female reporter. Rush kept playing that piece over and over.

4. progressive is much better for a number of reasons . . .
first, the right has made "liberal" almost a curse word, and to spend all of our time and energy trying to rehabilitate it detracts from far more important things . . . second, progressive implies forward-looking, and is particularly effective when contrasted with its opposite, regressive . . . which is exactly how we should start referring to the theo-cons who've taken over our government . . . they want to take us backwards, destroying the entire New Deal, all environmental legislation, all workers' rights, all civil rights and civil liberties, everything that empowers the people rather than the plutocracy . . . they won't be happy until we're back to the Dark Ages, with them on the throne and the rest of us their serfs, with no power whatsoever . . .
