1. Some people watch the awards to see the pretty people all dressed up!
Edited on Mon Feb-14-05 04:30 AM by applegrove
If you are a movie fan - you can just find out the results the next day. Of course awards shows are frivolous. Who buys the movie magazines & the fashion ones?

But nice of drudge to pick the one quote that actually plays well into the wedging of America. Nice of him. For his friends.

Now if it were the Victoria Secret Fashion show - now that would have a different audience. Women at the oscars have on too many clothes for men to want to catch a glimpse.

2. now now be in touch with your inner Joan & Mellisa
When do they have an award show for award shows ? Chris Rock probably meant no harm to gays and was just ranting about the awards becoming more of a bore than they should be.

3. Rock donated to Kerry, Obama, and Waters

The only ones 'outraged' by his comments appear to be those that hate Hollywood and homosexuals.

It's appropriate, then, that the title of his latest CD release is, "Never Scared."

Are you rooting for anyone?
Awards for art are f---ing idiotic. Unless two people are doing the exact same thing, how can you really say somebody's better than the other? If Jamie Foxx is doing Ray and Clint Eastwood's doing Ray, then you can kind of judge the two. But I root for people in the sense that some awards will help people's careers more than others. I know if Jamie Foxx or Don Cheadle wins, it's gonna help out their careers. There will be an absolute change in their lives if they win. Whereas if Johnny Depp wins, it's like, Yeah? He's got an award, but he's always gonna make the same money; he's always gonna get the best offers and work with the best people. If Leo DiCaprio wins, who gives a f---? It's like, Oh, now he's gonna get 20 million and one dollars?
