I am depressed......
Will the plame investigation lead to anything?
No
Will we win midterms in 2006?
No... but it won't be for my lack of trying. Americans are becoming stupid and gullable.... it's gross!
Bush can't be re-elected in 2008, so you know what they'll do.... they'll nominate a "ringer" like Allen or McCain.

Who do we have? Kerry (oh yea that worked), Warner (not against Allen), Edwards (Part of that evil LIBERAL ticket), Clark (shit clinton fired him), clinton (She made a tasteless joke about Ghandi... it'll be the new dean scream)

HELP!

1. Don't be depressed
Edited on Wed Feb-16-05 11:01 AM by adigal
We need every single thinking American to keep talking to Bush fans and opening their eyes to what he is really doing, writing letters to the editor, going out and protesting, meeting with fellow dems and being active, raising money.

We can change the world. Think of Mandela, ML King Jr, all of whom had a much harder row to hoe than we do.

Now get back to work - write to your Congressman about something that is really pissing you off today

2. The foundations of Bush are riddled by termites
And I think the battle over Social Security is going to show how rotten that foundation is. He went into February a whole 10 points lower than any other recent 2 term president going into the first February of their second term. And Social Security phase out is enormously unpopular if understood properly.

3. It's Hard To Keep Fighting...
If the Guckert-Gannon story broke onto TV like
Paula Jones and Lewinsky, Bush would be toast,
and that's that.

A Gay sex scandal in the WH involving God
knows who would forever end the GOP hold on
middle America red states.

BUt as Joe Conason of the New York Observer
writes, the coporate media is not reporting
the Gannon story at all---total silence.

And it's the THE story that would
destroy Bush and he GOP.

5. You know, I never heard about the Ghandi "joke"
But I found a link, and in all honesty it would win her votes with some people. (from January 7, 2004)

The New York Democrat made the remark at a fund-raiser Saturday. During an event here for Senate candidate Nancy Farmer, Clinton introduced a quote from Gandhi by saying, "He ran a gas station down in St. Louis."

After laughter from many in the crowd of at least 200 subsided, the former first lady continued, "No, Mahatma Gandhi was a great leader of the 20th century." In a nod to Farmer's underdog status against Republican Sen. Kit Bond, Clinton quoted the Indian independence leader as saying: "First they ignore you, then they laugh at you, then they fight you, then you win."

The director of a U.S. center devoted to Gandhi's teachings called the remarks stereotypical and racially insensitive, while an educator said the flap underscored the need for politicians to be cautious when trying to get laughs.

"Political speeches can't be like episodes of The Simpsons," said David Robertson, a University of Missouri-St. Louis political science professor.....
