i was just surfing sirius last hour and happened upon the stephanie miller show on 143. she and her cohost were hammering away at * and this latest outrage. Anyone else listen to her? switching over to malloy now.

regularly years ago when she used to butt heads with Bayh Buchanan on a half hour show they co-hosted back before CNN became the right wing propaganda channel. She is very witty and well-informed.

4. I think I did, new to Sirius

I listened to the "Young Turks" They talking about how the new military budget is most Pork with a capital P. Including things for the Trident submarine missile system that was designed primarily for retaliation against Russia in the Cold War. They also talked about how the military doesn't really need bunker busting nuclear weapons, that this generation doesn't realize how powerful even the first atomic bombs were that killed 180,000 Japanese and do we really need baseball sized nuclear bombs that are way more advanced than those were. That nuclear weapons are seen by most Americans as the last resort and not a weapon to be routinely used in combat. They also praised Kerry because he wants to take part of that budget to help returning soldiers, increasing benefits for returning National Guard,
letting a family who has lost a family member stay in military housing for a year instead of 6 months and incentives, etc.

5. I've been listening a couple of months now

she precedes Al Franken on our local am feed of AAR. Then Big Eddie Schultz at 3pm.

did you know her Dad was Brad? Miller who was running mate with Goldwater? She grew up in a Repug family, yet seems to have survived with insight into the way things are on that side.

my only complaint is that i find i tend to spend more time off DU listening to the 9 hours of liberal radio freedom these days, lol.
but it's not too bad. Today i took a radio outside (it was almost 70 degrees and somewhat sunny) and worked in the garden.
fresh air all around.
