1. Find the cost of freedom

Find the cost of freedom,
Buried in the ground.
Mother Earth will swallow you,
Lay your body down.

2. What a Crock!
The information that the government has so busily compiled is already bought & paid for with taxpayer monies! The citizen has a right to know how their money is spent - how the FBI et al conduct their investigations, who they're investigating, and the results of those investigations. These horrendously huge fees constitute a giant stumbling block in the way of transparency in government. I hope lawsuits arise tout suite! This is a tremendous impediment to democracy!

4. Truly OUTRAGEOUS!
We have that information but it'll cost you $400,000!
Stonewalling indeed.

Will, what did it cost before this misadministration?
A comparison would be most helpful.

5. during Shrub's first term w/ Ashcroft (the weakening of the FOIA)
Ashcroft released a memo:

http://www.usdoj.gov/oip/foiapost/2001foiapost19.htm
http://www.unitedstatesgovernment.net/thedayashcroftfoiledfoia.htm

Their obvious goal with the inflated fees is to stymie request for info.

6. This is keeping with the BushPutinist Model
A gradual moving away from the principles of freedom and transparency and everything Old America stood for once (even if it was far from perfect and did many terrible things in our history, like all nations).

Today "Freedom of Informaton" is no longer free, and certainly not available to Filthy Little Nobodies, Fodder Units, Enemies of the State, or other persona non grata in Imperial Amerika.

Now it costs BIG.

Eventually, it will no longer be available at any price.

May God Help Us as the last of us born and raised in Free America grow old and die, for things will get immeasurably worse during the Caligula and Nero generations of the Empire.

Glad I won't be alive to see it. Of course, it may well proceed a good bit faster than I postulate and that statement is no guarantee.

The Busheviks could start tomorrow, I think, and no one would stop them.
