Howie Kurtz: No difference between gay prostitution and affairs
outside marriage, Howie also warns that journalists who go after Gannon on this are open to examination of THEIR private lives.

Extramarital affairs are not yet illegal. Prostitution is illegal.

Buchanan and all those conservatives, including congressmen defending Gannon who think Gannon's private life of gay prostitution is off limits sure sing a different tune when they complain that being gay itself is aberrant behavior and discourage gays from doing legal things, like get married.

39. Ok, I'll bite: then it follows that there is no diff in gay marriage and
heterosexual marriage. Am I missing something here?

2. Kurtz; yep - probably a Gannon client...

Anybody who's defending this guy is either a) a past client or b) hiding something for somebody who was.

3. Examination of journalists' private lives?
"Gannon's" hobby was anything but private.

Hey, there, Websurfers all over the world.
Wanna roll around for $200?

11. Yeah - the MSM seems to be confusing prostitution (the oldest profession)

...with something 'personal'. Wonder why?

Why...aren't they asking the question? Did you know that this man was a prostitute and therefore a security risk? If not, why not?

It's not that hard...WHO is Jeff Gannon/Guckert, and WHO was he banging in your Administration, at GOPUSA, or in Washington DC? WHAT was he doing in the WhiteHouse in the first place? WHERE did he gain access, and HOW did he keep gaining access? Journalism 101.

Instead, the MSM (a group that's only slightly less unseemly than an ACTUAL whore) is worried about investigations in to their own private lives.

8. Kurtz is feeling Hurricane Blogger
and he cannot stop it, so he's using a camera lens to persuade "fellow journalists" to stop. So the holier-than-thou press has skeletons, thanks for the hot tip.

Irony abounds and he is really in need of an education before he tries to put more propaganda out there! Of course cnn, has to have him on because they employ this dimwit too.

10. No different than affairs outside of marriage? hmmm...
Edited on Thu Feb-17-05 07:44 PM by LostInAnomie
I seem to remember someones affair outside of marriage that the media and half of the congress and senate were absolutely obsessed with. In fact that is the only thing we heard about for almost 2 years, and spent over $50 million in taxpayer money investigating it.

Fucking hypocrites.

38. I think she's his second wife. Until he married her, he was okay...even
appears in Conason's movie "Hunting of the President" and adds some insight into what happened to Clinton. But, I think he had an ugly divorce (who knows what it got into) because he changed shortly after Chimp was annointed in 2000 and then got progressively worse. Shari Annis was a bad influence on him...or he has big alimony payments and she was his bail out.

But, there's definitely "something about Howie." He did change, but I don't know why.

I have a couple of e-mails from him before he "changed" when I asked questions on the WaPo website. He used to reply to his e-mails and didn't seem at all like he is now. That's why I posted this...because I saw the change with my own eyes...sad.

35. It is the provision of money that makes gay sex okay, by
turning into a commericial transaction that a conservative can back as a free markety occurance. But do it out of love, and look out--that's subversive.

25. A rather odd veiled threat from the Vicar of the Media Castle, no?
What, the bloom off the sex rose, Howie? I don't recall any concern when the object was Clinton and the Democrats.

And who'll exam and make that an issue....the blogosphere or the government? There is a difference.

Why so nervous Howie? Is your job covering the news or covering it up?

to back off this story.

Kurtz is acting this way for a reason. He's either protecting the White House or himself.

28. Or both, blm.
He may be protecting the WH because he's been threatened that they'll out him as a client ... perhaps along with other journos. Of course, his threat can also be read that if the MSM covers this, their run-of-the-mill adultery will be made public by the WH.

26. I'd love to see a list of Gannon's clients
simply because that list has to contain some very high profile names....

it's like water buffalo forming a protective circle around a cheetah...and then posturing loudly on how they are just protecting one of their own..which in itself is odd and even very telling...why close ranks around a fraud, that should be viewed as someone that makes them all look bad (thereby a danger to them)....instead, so called real journalists are protecting the phoney....hmmmm

32. Wow, Howie has dropped even the pretense of being...
'objective' and not a White House shill. Advertising your business and following that up with 'client satisfaction comments' is the opposite of PRIVATE and Howie knows that. The faux privacy meme is straight from the fixers at the White House, imo.

He is scared shitless of something here which says to me it is worth it to keep digging.

Remember the Condit/Scarborough cases - contemporary, the GOP one complete with a body in his office, the dem - pure conjecture. Which was the one everyone knew of?
dear Howie:
prostitution, getting WH credentials under a fake name and with no credentials ARE NOT PRIVATE MATTERS.
Your affairs, OTOH, I am not interested in.

36. Idiot
Listen, Kurtz, neither extramarital affairs nor selling your services to escort sites is admirable.

And when you have nothing going for you to begin with (remember things like getting a degree from a real University and paying your dues and actually getting published on real live paper) it makes you even LESS credible.

And yes, escorts that engage in sexual acts are against the laws in most districts in this country.

And anything you put on the internet is not private.

No one was spying on him in his bedroom for christsake! HE put himself on the net as a rent boy. Sorry someone found it. I guess we should have not said a word? And why does he deserve protection? Ah yes...because he's a Republican.

Hypocrite slimballs.

So if you are cheating on your wife, Howie, it's not okay..but don't advertize the fact on the web and then we find out your name is really Slim McSlimster and you never went to college. Oh but we know you're pro-Bush so it's okay!
