Basically I want to know who Gannon is, and why what he was doing was scandalous.

7. Hustled into the White House press corps without a background check

(which he'd never have passed) by someone fairly high up in the administration.

A place holder in the press corps, a fake journalist who would yammer right wing slander of Democrats and stick a question mark at the end so that real journalists in the room wouldn't be called on during press conferences.

A real piece of work, a rough trade male prostitute who cared enough about hiding who he was to use an alias, which left him open to blackmail, which constitutes a massive breach of security.
