CBS PUBLISHES -- "Rove-Gannon Connection?"
Edited on Fri Feb-18-05 10:46 PM by understandinglife
I'm only posting one quote as to simply be sure you are all seeing this:

Planting or even just sanctioning a political operative in the WH press room is a dangerous precedent and Karl Rove's hope to become a respected policymaker will be hampered if the dirty tricks from his political past are more apparent than his desire to spread liberty around the globe.

That phrase, in the last sentence tells you that CBS is going for the gold on this one.

http://www.cbsnews.com/stories/2005/02/18/opinion/lynch/main675050.shtml

Those who read DU, dKos, Americablog, Raw Story, NashuaAdvocate.....will find the contents of the article quite familiar: no doubt because its the detail-oriented researchers and true journalists at all those sites who've provided the opportunity for CBS to jump into 'revenge mode.'

Peace.

1. Go CBS!!!
Next question - by which means did he receive a press pass BEFORE his news organization existed, and WHO cleared it?

Karen Hughes, perchance?

2. I think the fact that CBS did this is truly non-trivial. Folk seeking ...
...."MSM" coverage of the issue of how a person with zero qualifications was in the West Wing of the White House, at least since Nov 2002, and was clearly in the middle of numerous CONCERTED political hits, now have CBS publishing this article -- one in which "dirty tricks" is not at all subtly juxtaposed to the name Rove.

Interesting.

3. Ooo, I'd love to be able to connect Hughes to all this!
Can't stand her; not sure exactly why, but I've had enough of her.

4. Seriously non-trivial! If that's not too redundant. CBS at this point
knows that "Rathergate" was a Rove plot to discredit it, network news, Mary Mapes, and that they were screwed royally for presenting fake evidence about a story that is undenied and factually correct!

They know the game. Rove's upper ground has slipped, and those waiting below for the battle are well-provisioned. And motivated.

6. Before you all start tap-dancing on Rove's political grave...
Shouldn't you wait until he's in it first?

That son-of-a-bitch is better at slipping away from certain death than Otto Kretschmer was.

9. Agree. First priority, evidence. Second priority, indictment. 3rd ...
.....prosceuction.

The Plame outing would not have occurred without Rove, Rice, Cheney and Gonzales being in on it (among others). It was both a 'political hit' and, perhaps a much bigger 'hit' to neutralize one of the very few US experts on mid-east WMD activity and a person who undoubtedly had an extensive network of other experts.

Gagman's actions regarding Plame required deep insider connectivity. And, the fact that he was roaming the West Wing since at least Nov 2002 could not have happened without, as everyone here now realizes, the most senior folk in Bush's executive office (if not Bush himself) telling the SS and the FBI "lay off, the guy's cool." IMHO, I think gagman may have met Rove and Bush initially because he was an SS (possibly under a name we've yet to uncover) -- a very ambitious SS.

Peace.
