1. Santorum is stacking the deck

He's using what private accounts would cost over a 20 year period against what SS needs to balance from now to eternity. In addition to being different time lengths, one has nothing to do with the other.
Private accounts do nothing to improve the solvency of the program. Basically, Santorum is just trying to lie and confuse people.

2. Yeah, Durbin was actually very straight forward and easy to understand, it

was Santorum who was giving the run around. One of the clues if someone lying to you is when they are actively trying to confuse you.
