My DLC insurgency campaign slogan
As many of you are aware , there is a group of us within the DLC attempting to move the organization AWAY from the destructive partisan politics of Al From and his Lieberman toadies. While this has been getting some national attention, I felt we needed a catchy slogan. A meme if you will. From and his cadre have been attempting to move their purported "center" so far to the RIGHT that candidates like Howard Dean and John Kerry look "left". This is just a gross distorion of reality. So , in that vein I have coined the phrase

"I WANT MY CENTER BACK!"

What do you think? Does it have legs?
:)

1. Appreciate the effort...

... but that one didn't grab me.

And yes, it is a shame what the DLC has turned into. I'm not sure I really liked the DLC much to begin with, but at least they helped get ppl elected. Now they're just creating a bunch of infighting and trying to pull the Democratic party over to the right of quite a few elected Republicans.

Anyway, keep trying.

3. Hmm interesting
Lorilie has been saying the same things. There are a couple of others here who want to reform the dlc. Bev Harris is very good a memetics. You might want to consult her.

4. Real democrats don't need 'leaders'; they need honest representation.

5. Congratulations, Capn Sunshine!

I am so glad you are doing this. I have a range of political opions, and I think a healthy Democratic party would consist of a dialog between a progressive and a centrist wing. I think that's close to what Clinton, Gore, Dean, and other fighting DLC'ers have been trying to do.

But From's partisan rhetoric against fellow DLC'er Dean scorched me so much that I just want to kill the DLC altogether. Goddam From for attacking one of his own!

On the other hand, maybe the DLC can be rescued if a few heads roll. If so, more power to you. Is there any action you want from DU'ers?
