disguised as news.

Be afraid of al Qaeda. Be afraid of WMDs. Be afraid of gangs. Be afraid of airplanes. The list is endless.

My message to MSM. You're outa here. I can find other sources that are more, independent, shall we say.

1. I can deal with majors more than minors
It's the "tonight at 11 - how your local restaurant could poison you" "Tonight at 5 - cars that kill" that drive me insane

are something new. Just any thing that they can dig up to try to get attention and scare the country. Total hype from beginning to end.

I've had enough. As Joe Friday used to say "The facts. Just the facts."

2. You forgot the pandemic of bird flu that might be used as weapons!
As long as they keep America swathed in fear, they will be free to turn the planet into an empire, which of course, is what their plan is anyway. Rememember, nothing is more effective for fascists then fear!

5. As long as they keep America swathed in fear,
we will continue to have church killings, and other forms of violence.

At what point do we make the media culpable for the fear and violence in our culture?

7. Now, we need to be afraid of 50 cal sniper rifles too?
I can find no info on how one could take down a plane any easier than any other high-power rifle.

8. Did you think you could tune in and...
...get a half an hour of 'happy news'?

It's not going to happen.

Bad news sells.

11. The fact is...
"Be afraid of al Qaeda."

We should be afraid of al Qaeda because Bush has done little to stop them.

"Be afraid of WMDs."

We should be afraid of WMDs because Iran and Korea have them (or want them) and Bush is pissing both countries off.

" Be afraid of gangs."

We should be afraid of gangs because the desperation that kids feel because of the ruinous ecomomy that Bush is creating is causing gangs
and the violence that goes with them.

"Be afraid of airplanes."

And on

" The list is endless."

and on

10. I also like
CNN's health correspondants -- be afraid of Heart attacks, be afraid of strokes, be afraid of Arthritis.

Followed by the completely coincidental commercial for Bayer Aspirin

12. Yes, let's be afraid......
Be afraid of terrorists (oh don't worry, The Patriot Act is only for the terrorists.... according to FOX).

Be afraid to be yourself.

Be afraid to think for yourself.

Be afraid to question anything.

Be afraid to show disloyalty to your President.

Be afraid not to show your love for your President.

Yeah..... dissent has become synonymous with "traitor" and "terrorist" as of late. That's the BS of the whole thing.

15. Not to nit-pick, but aspirin is a damned cheap fix for those things
Good cheap miracle drug which does wonders to help prevent stroke, heart attacks, etc.

But the juxtaposition is a little sketchy.....

These were the headline links for all the days stories. Two of them are not "fear mongering" while pretty much everything else is.

I once had a conversation with a webproducer there. It was made plain that good stories get killed if no blood is involved.
