I miss Bill
My daily toil involves reading a variety of bloggers, a raft of news sites many of them international. I'm not really sure what I am searching for anymore...in the beginning it was proof to sooth my soul that America could not or would not drift down the dark road of fascism and totalitarianism.

Democracy - by its very definition should not allow such a thing to happen - I naively pondered....and yet the signs are there. Perhaps my cynical view of Bush is clouding reality. Perhaps I can't see the good because I personally dislike him so very much - to a molecular level.

Maybe it is war fatique. In the beginning I was outraged at America actually invading Iraq. And I waited to see the outcries...I waited to see sanctions immediately imposed on the roque state of the USA. I waited to see the political cost exacted on President Bush over the Abu Ghraib scandal and other ensueing torture stories. Heck, I am STILL waiting to see some sort of political damage over the war period. Or how about the fake news stories that the White House PROUDLY produces? Any outrage over that? Anything?

Well - it must be the war fatique. Things that should turn our blood cold - we barely pay attention to anymore. We have been accosted and flooded with images of war, murder, torture and pain. And sadly - we are beginning to forget what it was like before. Before the corruption - the blatent corruption of the government...do any of you recall what it was like then? When we could walk down the street openly and smile to our Arab neighbors...and they smiled back? Of course it gets worse than this - it is not only Arabs who frown at us these days.....

Well, enough ranting....I miss Bill. I really do. I miss his optimism, his statesmanship, his candor, his speeches. I miss the gut feeling that when you hear him talk - you feel good about yourself and the possibilities of mankind. I miss the feeling that even if you disagree with him - he listened to your point of view...took that into account - like you were worth something and that even though he disagreed with whatever your point was - you were still a benefit to society.

Am I alone?

3. Nope, not alone - I miss Big Dawg too
The economy was decent and everybody was in a better mood! We were'nt at war and the media was kinda/sorta more accurate. However, I think a critical mass is developing, where more and more people are beginning to see the * admin. more clearly. It seems slow, to us, but people are waking up.

6. I love Bill!
Life was good, and all was right (mostly) with my little world under Bill. But more than that, I miss not having to be embarrassed for the U.S. every time the president opens his mouth. I miss having an intelligent, eloquent, diplomatic, and compassionate man leading us.

7. I can't say I know much
Edited on Wed Mar-16-05 08:16 PM by Goldeneye
about the Clinton years. I wish I had paid more attention, but I was a kid still. My parents were certainly happier before Bush. And I was happier when they were happier. I will say that everything Bush does pisses me off. And most of the things he does scares the shit out of me. Everyday I wonder what our downfall will be: Nuclear war? Peak Oil? Global Warming? Of course none of these things are Bush's fault alone, but he is certainly acting as a catalyst, pushing everything into place, waiting for the Armageddon.

I can say that the optimism and hope of the Kerry Edwards campaign was refreshing, and it broke my heart to see the hope drain away. Four more years of Bush...and then what? Argh...

8. There is a website called wemissbill.com
I think you'll like it there. Bittersweet, for sure, but it might calm your nerves a little.

9. I think Bush purposely does not lead his people because he wants
people to feel weak, afraid, and tribal. How else could Bush have won the last election if he could not have played the US plurality off of each other.

Look at this SS thing. He will not even publish his plan.

He will not lead because he & his handlers are dependent on slicing & dicing the USA into a "indirect rule" little colony whose population does not bother 'the important people in power'.

***holes!

Of course you miss Bill Clinton. You miss someone who tried to lead the whole country. This Bush chump with his 'anxious masculinity' relies on weakness to get elected. Why would he try and make you feel strong & together? The plurality & the democratic forces of America are his worst enemy.

10. If nothing else,
I miss having a president with an IQ over 85, and didn't need millions of dollars of media promotion and toadies to stay in office.
