Don't miss C-Span-1 9:53 est/Repeat of Bush Press Conf....Panic Attack
C-SPAN-1 ..TONIGHT REPEAT/ 9:53 est/ WH Press Conference!
This is worth a VCR Recording! For History! This Press Conference is worth a Download and Save. And if anyone can post the last 15 Minutes on a downloadable MP-3/Shockwave/whatever site to send to our friends and relatives...it would be GREAT! Bush Implodes...but last 15 minutes shows how bad off he is!

Look for the last 15 Minutes about IRAN! Look for PRESIDENTIAL PANIC ATTACK ABOUT *OXYGEN* Laking in Room!!!! See how he sputters and stammers about Iran...where he breaths in short breaths after reporters questions and then complains about "Oxygen" in the room.

Watch it.....He's a sick man...having "Panic Attacks" because of STRESS... Look for it yourself...It's only "My" opinion.

I heard about this so now I'll have to watch. Interesting. I wonder if Stewart will talk about this. If it's worth taping I will so one day I can show my future kids the video and say: "See kids? He really was insane."

3. Didn't look that different from usual for him, in my opinion
Edited on Wed Mar-16-05 08:32 PM by Nothing Without Hope
An appalling performance which will be scrutinized for the exact wording of his statements, many of which were highly alarming for anyone remotely non-wingnut, but he hated being there and walked out after 47 minutes. He said something about "healthful design" of the press room and how they needed some more oxygen in it, then he left quickly. At least on the scale of the RealPlayer screen on my computer, he just looked like his horrible, incompetent self. He hates press conferences and ended it as soon as he felt he could; it was rather abrupt but not something like a breakdown in my opinion.

But we DO need to get a transcript, because he made significant statements on a number of subjects. Also a whole lot of EXTREMELY STUPID blathering. But the signficant stuff and the misstatements need to be looked over and he must be held accountable for it all.

9. There's a link on C-span's front page, and the "oxygen" stuff was
only in the last minute or two. It looked like a lame excuse to leave the room, since he hates press conferences. He hates having his policies or statements questioned in any way.

It was an appalling performance, but I wouldn't call it a "panic attack." It's just the blivet** in typical form when he has to say more than a sentence or two on his own. (We couldn't see his back, so I'm betting the transmitter was there for prompts.)

The front page of C-SPAN: http://www.c-span.org

There is a listing there with this 47 or so minute press conference in video: "Pres. Bush Press Conference (03/16/2005)"

21. I think you're right
He hardly does any press conferences and confronts with people who ask real question's. Plus he didn't have any control media people in the room or Guckert.

31. Nope, he DID have a "Gannon substitute" - Trudeau's cartoon was RIGHT!

They've already replaced "Gannon" with an "EXISTING STOOGE" who can serve the function of lofting super-softball "questions" that only give the blivet** a chance to preen. JimmyJeff couldn't have done it better:

Q Mr. President, you faced a lot of skepticism in the run-up to the Iraq war, and a lot of criticism for miscalculating some of the challenges of postwar Iraq. Now that the Iraq elections seem to be triggering signs of democratization throughout the broader Middle East, do you feel any sense of vindication?

THE PRESIDENT: First of all, I fully understand that as long as I'm the President I will face criticism. It's like part of the job. Frankly, you wouldn't be doing your job if you didn't occasionally lay out the gentle criticism. I welcome constructive ideas as to how we might do our job better. So that doesn't bother me. And, therefore, since it doesn't bother me and I expect it, I don't then seek vindication.

Look, history -- shall I give you my talk on history and presidencies? Okay, thank you. I don't -- what's interesting is George Washington is now getting a second, or third, or fifth, or tenth look in history. I read the Ellis book, which is a really interesting book, and -- "His Excellency," it's called. And McCullough is writing a book on George Washington, as well. People are constantly evaluating somebody's standing in history, a President's standing in history, based upon events that took place during the presidency, based upon things that happened after the presidency, based upon -- like in my case, hopefully, the march of freedom continues way after my presidency. And so I just don't worry about vindication or standing.

The other thing, it turns out, in this job you've got a lot on your plate on a regular basis, you don't have much time to sit around and wander, lonely, in the Oval Office, kind of asking different portraits, how do you think my standing will be? (Laughter.) I've got a lot to do. And I like to make decisions, and I make a lot of them.

I think the shill who asked that one was the Washington Times correspondent. It was at about the 30 minute mark (of a bit under 48 minutes). "Gannon" himself could not have thrown a softer one, as one would expect from a hack from that ultra-RW Moonie newspaper. And the blivet**'s "answer" was largely incoherent, but he appeared to be comparing himself with George Washington for bringing "democracy" to the Middle East. We need to confirm the identity of that questioner and keep an eye on him. He's looking like a planted shill just like "Gannon" was.

Like the Doonesbury cartoon said, they couldn't use an outside stooge any more, they have to use an EXISTING INSIDE ONE.

13. I went back to C-Span Site and checked the link...here it is again..
http://inside.c-spanarchives.org:8080/cspan/schedule.csp

It's all I have that they gave me for he re-broadcast of Bush "White House Press Conference."

 don't know why it's a "broken link."

Skip through if you tape but can't stand to watch him to about the last 15 or 20 minutes of the speech..then go all the way to the end where he talks about "Oxygen" in the room and ends the conference and see how fast he leaves the podium and exits.

I watched the C-Span video of this on their site...and it stops where he says he's cutting press conference short...it doesn't show how he left the room after "abruptly ending the conference."

With other Presidents their "Press Secretary" will always announce an end to the Press Conference saying "President will answer "two more..or whatever questions" and then the "Press Secretary" (in this case McClellan) would say: "Thank you for your questions we need to end this Press Conference now because the President has other meetings, etc., etc."

McClelland wasn't there and he didn't "buffer" for the Chimp. The Chimp thought the could bluff it...got hard questions, found he was fighting off Panic Attack and abruptly ended it.

No other President I've seen going back to Nixon has ever not had his Press Secretary or other intermediary "buffer," to end the conference.

ummmmm....ahhhhh....ummmm.....duhhhhhh...

bush* is really losing it TOTALLY.....

IMO, he may well spin drunkenly OUT OF CONTROL like nixon did....

during today's bush* cheering his new Iraqi National Assembly, as the EXPLOSIONS continued.....at some point, like "I am not a crook" nixon, REALITY will meet bush* drunken/drugged ILLUSIONS...and the whole house of cards will fall down...it may be a FAST but dramatic FALL, like ENRON....

almost empty meeting, quickly dismissed as EXPLOSIONS continued...

many EXPLOSIONS hit close to the new Iraqi National Assembly, huddled inside the HEAVILY Fortified Green Zone, with TWO explosions INSIDE THE GREEN ZONE...

15. Great site! But the list of awful and significant quotes goes on and on.
Edited on Wed Mar-16-05 08:58 PM by Nothing Without Hope
The press conference has to be seen to be believed, but it is truly nausea-inducing, so don't watch on a full stomach.

One I recall, said with grand gestures, "I LIKE to make decisions and I make a lot OF them!"
(accent on the two upper-case words). So childish, he doesn't have a clue.

But we need to sort through the garbage for the lies and for the significant policy statements and hold him accountable for them.

He supports the "Hate Amendment" (our term for it is so apt, I always use it) to the Constitution to ban gay marriage and said that the judge's recent ruling is what will get the people roused up to push for it. "The people, not the judges, should decide."

He supports the placement of religious symbols like the 10 Commandments on government property.

He supports the death penalty and says it is a deterrent to crime

He supports the export of accused prisoners to countries where torture is practiced. He said we need to protect ourselves and besides, we ask for assurances that they won't be tortured.

He thinks it's fine for government-produced video clips to be shown TV statements without a disclaimer that they are in fact made by the government. He says they're legal because they are "factual," and he refused to consider putting a disclaimer in the message itself.

Asked about pulling out of Iraq, he said nations (I think he meant the coalition countries, that was the context) were --can't recall the exact word -- invigorated and encouraged (my words for the word I can't remember) by the democratic process unfolding in Iraq. He denied that they were pressing to pull out. (We need the exact words on this one - I think it's a lie.)

He said a lot about Social Security, and I'm betting there are clear lies in it.

Lots and lots more. This needs to be gone over in detail.

real quick. They need her badly. Forget those Muslims she has to woo. They have a DISASTER on their hands. Rove, Allbaugh, and Bartlett are falling down on the job.

I think there is evidence here that he didn't even know who he was speaking to because he is talked as if he was with his back slapping buddies who laugh at and forgive everything he says.

Anyone remember the saying...Goodbye, Goodbye St.Andreas, It Ain't Our Fault!

17. Wolfowitz grew a heart (or had one transplanted for his new role).
He is now literally Santa Claus just like the Grinch.... USA has only forgiven the enormous debt burden of IRAQ. The desperately poor in Africa will not get any cuts!!! Unless they vote to support the USA in its next excellent adventure.

Funny - Britain and Canada and Africa had it that all of Africa should be forgiven. Wolfowitz will forgive all of Africa but "reframe it" so as to make the USA look like Santa bearing gifts of its own making (when USA has been the biggest block to debt forgiveness).

That is why the UN has to be destroyed... you can't have but one Santa!!

MS. MORNIN: I'm fine.

DUBYA: Good. Okay, Mary, tell us about yourself.

MS. MORNIN: Okay, I'm a divorced, single mother with three grown, adult children. I have one child, Robbie, who is mentally challenged, and I have two daughters.

DUBYA: There's a certain comfort to know that the promises made will be kept by the government.

MS. MORNIN: Yes.

DUBYA: And so thank you for asking that. You don't have to worry.

MS. MORNIN: That's good, because I work three jobs and I feel like I contribute.

DUBYA: You work three jobs?

MS. MORNIN: Three jobs, yes.

DUBYA: Uniquely American, isn't it? I mean, that is fantastic that you're doing that. Get any sleep?
