So it seems the Democratic govt in this country which really is a
Republic is about turned on it's head. The representatives are bought off by large corporations and their votes reflect what the corporations want and not the people. There was a time when reps knew why they went to Washington and at least tried to represent their constituents by their votes but now it is all tied to money and big interests the people matter little. I would be willing to wager if 1/2 the people in this country took to the streets in protest of what is happening that the corporations and big interest groups with power and money would still control Washington. Voting no longer puts the best person in office but the one who controls the voting machines and has the most money and backing from corps and special interests. There is a gridlock in Washington and Repubs and Dems are virtually riding the same horse now. Is it time for a true Democratic govt where the people actually do rule or is that too far fetched? Just some thoughts.

1. Great post! Yeah, it's time. But we can talk
all we want about it, and fax/e-mail/phone/letters, but nothing changes, or gets better, or even, or hopeful. I'm open to ideas.

2. If Americans took to the streets, the government would send
...the National Guard into the streets to restore order just like they did at Kent State in 1970. Scary idea, I was around when Kent State happened and the marches down Madison Avenue in NYC and the clashes between the hard hats and the students took place. We are getting dangerously close to that happening once again and we have an administration that would have no hesitation to commit violence against the American people to forward their own extreme agenda, IMHO.

5. Here in Orlando there are weekend warriors out every Fri/Sat/Sun
...in mass (500 plus persons) vehicles, see it every weekend. They would be the first on the scene should any civil disobedience occur and these units are all over the state.

4. Whistle, I too was around during Kent State massacre and too have no
doubt that this would be repeated and on a grander scale. The reps in office do not see their role as representing the people but the people are there to agree with them and shut up. I just find it so sad the state the country has come to.

6. But something with a great big impact has to be done!
We have to let this government know we are not impressed with them AT ALL. If it takes people physically trying to take back their country, hopefully that would be a message the MSM would 'get' and perhaps even approve of. "Thinking" people cannot like what is going on!
