Social Security Truth Truck to travel to home states of swing members.
This is the group we joined when we left AARP because of their support of the Medicare Bill. They left us hanging out to dry on it.

"Over recent months the Alliance collected 1 million messages calling on Members of Congress to reject any plan that will cut benefits or divert money from the Trust Fund. We are going to load all these messages on a truck and then visit - in person - more than 20 Members of Congress in their own backyards. Beginning March 21, the Alliance's Social Security Truth Truck: 3000 Miles, 1 Million Voices will begin traveling in Florida and end in Pennsylvania.

"President Bush has launched an intense 60-day campaign to promote his plans to privatize Social Security. According to the White House, the primary target of this phase of the campaign will be Americans age 55 and over. Polll after poll has demonstrated that America's retirees simply don't trust the President when it comes to retirement security. In the months ahead, in partnership with so many international unions, the Alliance for Retired Americans has planned an aggressive campaign to defeat Social Security privatization. In the next 60 days we will stand up to the president by engaging, educating and mobilizing retirees...."

2. Dade City? That's a tiny little town out in the middle of nowhere.
If I thought I could control myself I'd go up and watch. Problem is, when I get near repubs in power, I have this big urge to punch something.

4. I think that is Ginny Brown-Waite's district...very Republican.
But I have met some great folks from that area. Go if you can. Pass the word.

Speaking of wanting to punch things, I know the feeling. It has been a frustrating week watching our Democrats vote Republican.

3. Great. SOMEBODY's got to drill it into people's heads...
Incredible how vacuous some people can be with respect to paying attention.

I know enough who's line is - there's nothing they can do about it, anyway...

Write to your local paper - at least those 30% of Americans who read, MAY get the message.

Is this a big group? Is anyone covering the thing?
