A very special kid died yesterday.
Edited on Fri Mar-18-05 09:53 PM by coffeenap
He was 14 and profoundly gifted. He was one of the one-in-a-million people born with remarkable talents and brain power. His parents were loving and supportive and did everything they could for him.

As a parent of one of these kids, it hits home. This is just a little reach-out in support of those individuals in this world who don't fit in society's boundaries, but are a gift to us all. Love to all of you.

2. My condolences to his family and to you.
14 is way too young to die. How sad. :(

4. You and his family have my deepest sympathy
I read the article but am so unclear as to the etiology of his depression & subsequent suicide.

I am currently dealing with the brutal murder of a beautiful 21 year old life. He is the God Father of of my first grand daughter. My heart is broken.

Please except my tears & sympathy.

8. It is incredibly sad...
This is really touching:

"We're rationalizing now," she said. "He had this excessive need to help people and teach people. ... He was so connected with the spiritual world, we felt he could hear people's needs and desires and their cries. We just felt like something touched him that day and he knew he had to leave" so his organs could be donated.

She said Brandenn's kidneys went to two people, his liver to a 22-month old and his heart to an 11-year-old boy.

11. Dupe
It's already being discussed at LBN, where the consensus of some seems to be that this is "proof" we should outlaw homeschooling...and maybe, according to one poster, private schools as well.
