Yet another Schiavo question...
Has she had any PET scans, MRIs, full brain scans etc? As far as I know, she has.. I was reading USA Today at work, and in an opinion piece, Dumbass-Delay claimed she "never" had any of those... he also said that she's been "locked up in that hospice, unable to go outsie to breathe fresh air".. nevermind the fact that people in that advanced state of deterioration are exceptionally susceptable to infections, pneumonia etc, so bringing her outside the sterile, climate controlled enviornmemt of her room would presumably actually hasten her decline...

1. Oh the drama, oh the humanity.
If DeLay really thinks the hospice is so torturous, what's with his big move to keeping her alive in it.

Is he suggesting she be kept permanently on life support at her home? Perhaps in a nice park somewhere?

Is he going to pay for private round-the-clock care outside the hospice?

6. The scans have been posted here before
And there is footage of her at the beach, in a wheelchair with Michael and family. She looks as though she hasn't a clue where she's at, or what she's doing. It looks like older footage, and it was on the Tampa news this evening.

3. Randi Rhodes went into all of this in detail today.
There has not been a stone unturned in this case. The courts have gone through all the medical records and all the scans with a fine tooth comb and have come to the conclusion that she has no chance of recovery. She meets all the criteria of being clinically dead. If you can replay her show today, I think you will find it very informative.

4. She cannot have an MRI due to electrode therapy
Electrodes are stil in her head.

There is a scan of her brain, I believe it's a PET scan. Shows her cerebral cortex has been replaced almost completely with spinal fluid. Picture is floating aboout on DU.

7. Where was all this "due Process" For Baby Sun Hudson....Ceeerist
There have been more done for Terri Shiavo than any other patient in this condition. What more will it take...A light beam with a booming voice out of the clouds?

8. from Guardian Ad Litem report...

Theresa's neurological tests and CT scans indicate objective measures of the persistent vegetative state. These data indicate that Theresa's cerebral cortex is principally liquid, having shrunken due to the severe anoxic trauma experienced thirteen years ago. The initial oxygen deprivation caused damage that could not be repaired, and the brain tissue in that area continued to devolve. It is noteworthy to recall that from the time of her collapse, and for more than three years, Theresa did receive active physical, occupational, speech and even recreational therapy. There is evidence early in her records of care that she said "no" during physical therapy session. That behavior did not recur and was not further referenced.

10. Reality Check
19 Judges have reviewed this case. One would think one out of those 19 would have asked that a current MRI and CAT scan would be done...and that Michael Schaivo's laywers and doctors also had to present them in order to win the case.

There's a paper trail 15 years long on her condition and treatment and status. The fact is since around 1996 (when, to my knowledge the last detectable brain waves were noticed), CAT scans have shown fluid around the brain and no EEG waves have been detected. There's not much more to see or say or scan or monitor when it gets to this state...and all that is left to monitor are vital signs...heart rate and so on...things controlled by the lower brain.

Terri is not "locked up"...she's in a dark room...probably with a monitor on her and lying completely still...nothing to see. A part of me would love to see someone bring in a camera and show what a PVS person in that condition looks like...not a pretty sight. Let's see the bedsores and the balled up fists and soiled diapers. Hospice people have my greatest respect for the difficult jobs they do and how dedicated they are.

DeLay spewed so many lies, his mundacy almost has to be admired. This goon flat out lied about her current state...she can't or won't walk, she can't or won't eat, she can't or won't talk...but not in DeLay's world of self serving agendas. She's a perfect pawn and us "libruls" are killing her.
