Government's spin on news poisons truth.
First, Weil argues, let us call deception a crime. Second, crimes of falsehood should be punishable by special courts "enjoying the highest prestige, composed of judges specially selected and trained." And third, "circles in which ideas are discussed" should be granted the right to publish only weekly, fortnightly or monthly. For "there is absolutely no need to appear more frequently in print, if one's object is to make people think instead of stupefying them."

1. All I really want is the truth...
... or as close as human beings can get to the truth, I don't care if it bolsters my position; how can I know my position if I am not in possession of the facts.
