5. I got Farenhype instead of MM's documentary
it's that wantabee documentary from the repugs starring Ed Koch, basically dem bashing, and refuting Moore's statements, he documents everything from the movie on his website, I threw it in the trash w/o watching it, and ordered Farenheit 9-11 from another vendor.
They knew that I had pre-ordered MM's film, and then they accidentally sent me that one that no one had heard of at the time.

There is no guarantee that the film company doesn't employ freepers in its shipping department.

Thank you for coming over to the "dark side" or, in my opinion, the side that would like to see the truth come out.
The movie is not about hating America--unless the only America that you worship is the America that shrub has created.
It is an attempt to open your eyes to what you haven't seen and make you want to find out more of the crimes this administration has committed.
It's worth a few bucks--but you should try it for yourself.
Another one that is very foretelling is "The Handmaid's Tale".
You could also pick u the book "Crossing the Rubicon".
Welcome to DU.:hi:

31. "The Handmaids Tale" should be required classroom reading.
I've thought about that book a lot during the reign of King George and his fundie minions. It is chilling.

I've never read "Crossing the Rubicon," but I think I'll add it to my list of must reads.

Because that movie is straight up prop. - jealousy over Moore's film.
(I'm still sick though over Moore's Leno appearance, post-election).

4. Moore's movie meant to be constructive.
However, in my opinion, the presentation was misleading in that it grossly understated the criminal intent of the current administration and by so doing could have misled people in to simply believing that our problem was centered around Bush's bumbling style. Our political problem is profoundly deeper than that.

In Moore's defense, he probably did the best he could with the evidence available. Had he been more accusatory, he would have been sued, maybe imprisoned. The Bush administration is very talented in the art of "hiding the bodies". They are masters of the cover up. It's a technique that has been developing for a number of years and has now borne fruit, a nearly completed multi-year coup d'etat. We will know the final outcome in Nov. of 2008.

7. I don't think the film would have made it to the theaters
agree there are some things that have either not been covered or
have been glossed over but at least some questions were raised and
in the current MSM lack of critical analysis of Bush, it's a mythbreaker

9. The squelching of any meaningful investigation of the 9-11 events
is the most devious act yet committed by the administration. In close second place was the phony war in Iraq. (that happened after Moore's film was made)

I got into a conversation on 9-11 with a DU regular, and even he thought that I was a wild eyed conspiracy theorist. But I think that there are things that will come to light regarding 9-11, that will be a wake up call for the American people.

Edited on Sat Apr-02-05 10:46 PM by MissWaverly
I surf international press so that I can get a broader view of what really goes on here, there has been some unusual things rumored in foreign press, I can't tell if it's hype or not, like the story that there was another band of terrorist who were caught in Mexico, that had plans for the (Sears) tower, and were detain for a considerable time and that the US pressured to have them let go???? People saying that Osama was a CIA agent and was never a terrorist at all, I myself have seen a statement supposedly from him saying that he had nothing to do with 911. As the planes were blown up, what do we know about the hijackers apart from their luggage??? Could those materials have been planted???

Edited on Sat Apr-02-05 11:24 PM by FreedomAngel82
Supposivley someone got to interview him and asked him about 9/11 and he just said he didn't have anything to do with it. And I also remember on the video of Usama BinLaden before the election last year there were definietly some strange things going on. I also read some information that one person who was supposed to be a hijacker really wasn't one and he was still a live. His information was just stolen two-three years before 9/11 and he reported it to the police but never got it back I don't think. He was a college student out in California.

23. FBI missed explosives during search Terry Nichols house
Now here's an individual who is implicated in the bombing of the Federal Building in Oklahoma and they are just now finding the explosives that were hidden in the crawl space, 10 years after the bombing, and we were surprised that they didn't find any evidence of wrong doing in Ohio after the election in '04.

40. Well there was a lot to cover
Edited on Sun Apr-03-05 09:43 PM by MissWaverly
they probably had to outsource some of their high tech jobs, they probably need a crawlalligist for the crawl space, they're not easy to find you know.

http://story.news.yahoo.com/news?tmpl=story&u=/ap/nichols_house_search1. FBI is facing the possibility it made an embarrassing oversight in the Oklahoma City bombing case a decade ago after new information led agents to explosive materials hidden in Terry Nichols' former home, which they had searched several times before.
FBI officials said the material was found Thursday night and Friday in a crawl space of the house in Herington, Kan. They believe agents failed to check that space during the numerous searches of the property during the original investigation of Nichols and Timothy McVeigh.
"The information so far indicates the items have been there since prior to the Oklahoma City bombing," Agent Gary Johnson said in a telephone interview from Oklahoma City.
FBI spokesman Jeff Lanza said in Kansas the materials were found in boxes, much of them wrapped in plastic, and were being sent to the FBI lab for analysis. The bureau is operating on the assumption the evidence was from the original Oklahoma plot based on information developed in recent days, he said.
Agents now will be looking for any fingerprints and other clues on the evidence that might show where the explosives originated and who may have possessed them before they got into Nichols' home.

15. I wrote an Essay on FahrenHYPE vs. FahrenHEIT....
Edited on Sat Apr-02-05 10:44 PM by buckup
... for my documentary class. So I bought Fahrenheit 9/11, and stole Hahrenhype 9/11 off the internet. I watched the whole thing. Parts of it are good at refuting some of Moore's sleazy tactics (for instance, producing what appears to be a news article from an Op-Ed piece), however, overall, it is shoddily put together, and one of the same guys who appears on camera is also a writer. And another guy who is interviewed (some actor) also does a horrible job of narrating, ironically, with not enough feeling and intonation.

To quote the conclusion of my own essay... "Moore may not always get his facts straight, but the sometimes-empty rhetoric of his opposition makes for an equally reputable documentary. "

there were plenty of other things to refute... Although, actually, the point of the paper was not about which was more accurate, but to talk about the METHODS of documentary that were used. I just happened to choose TWO movies to analyze instead of just one... (I like to be different and a little daring)... If I recall correctly, I got an A on it.

while shots of 'officials' pimping for camera was neat

accept for revelation of James Bath on Doc

movie was 'pop' documentary

after seeing said so what, known this for 2 years

some call it the saudi's are the enemy movie

and even the title Farenheit 911, subtly implies? high temperatures brought those '3' buildings down

I have assembled in a draft a big expose of MM including a poem
smackdown for his support of W. Clark=HAWK!

title GrannyD ! PLEASE Put Michael Moore Across Your Knee

go to www.informationclearinghouse.info for REAL excellent documentaries to show at yr. Spring into Action parties

FarenHYPE is like spinning, driving in circles on the culdesac where George W....say..lives and egging his house

alot of people who flocked to this think they did some 'activism'

and doesn't Mr. McMoore believe there was no cheating in election

left phonies like Mr. Corn from the Nation are more despicable than Freepers who at least are authentic in their rabidness
