Edited on Sun Apr-03-05 06:55 PM by greenbriar
Man how can Clinton keep his composure after all the shit pulled on him

and we the american people should be OUTRAGED at letting the people WE ELECT TO WORK FOR US keep doing this shit.

I bought this book last summer then got "The Family" and had to read it first.

are people really so stupid as to think Bush...either or all of them... are godly people???

God only knows how Clinton can stand to be in the same room with the Bush's crime family members.

5. Can't recommend "My Life"
Is for the middle third, very plodding. He seemed to put EVERY meeting in his presidency in the book.

The first part about growing up and the last part from 1998 on was excellent, though.

I recommend "The Clinton Wars" by Sidney Blumenthal, a much better read iMo.

6. Congratulations.
That was quite a read. I took it on a plane and I thought they were going to count it as additional baggage!
Quite a memory Bill has. I did enjoy it, although I'm told it's really best on audio with Bill reading.

14. I finished mine on a trip to Disneyworld
Very easy reading for 900 + pages, though I agree that at times it just seems like a recitation of his daily calendar.

7. Another great read
which will really chap you off if Clinton's book did is Sidney Blumenthal's "The Clinton Wars." It takes you through the whole investigation and catalogues all the players and all the dirty tricks. It reads like a novel and I found it hard to put down. Bill's book wasn't as riveting as Blumenthal's, but he covered more material, not just the Starr witch hunt.
"The Clinton Wars" should be a must-read for all Americans so they can learn what the real truth is behind all those pseudo-scandals, Whitewater, Paula Jones, etc. These people were desperate to destroy the President and they would have suceeded if people like Susan MacDougal and Web Hubbel had caved into Starr's demand that they lie for their freedom.
The people that hunted Clinton are nothing less than criminals who put party and hatred before the Constitution. Hillary wasn't wrong when she talked about the vast right wing conspiracy.

8. "The Family" is a good reference
Kitty Kelly keeps good notes, and I'm always going back to it. What a disgusting, filthy family they are, and it's humiliating that they have such power. The high point of the book is knowing they have made more enemies than friends.

9. I was reading the family
during the elections and was shocked at how much they were using the same tactics and NO ONE did anything about it.

11. President Clinton is a class act!
He's been called everything under the sun, except a child of God. And if he wanted to, he would have every right to be angry and bitter. But you see no trace of that with him. And I think that's why the Repugs still can't stand him; because they haven't been able to get under his skin the way they wanted.

13. Haven't read mine yet - the size is daunting
But now that you mentioned it I need to get it back out. I really enjoyed the House of Bush. Imperial Hubris was hard to plow through. I think crossing the Rubicon is going to be the same way. I've been making a wish list from DU recommendations and boy is it a long list.
