Wall Street Journal: The Era of Big Government is Back
"Republicans in the capital are reviving Big Government -- and social conservatives aren't the only ones happy about it," the Wall Street Journal reports.

"Republicans are moving to expand Washington's role on other fronts. In banking, insurance and telecommunications, the Bush administration and Congress are pushing federal regulation instead of state oversight -- to the applause of business constituents who now consider that more efficient and less onerous than in the days of Democratic rule."

"For Democrats in Washington, such moves represent hypocrisy from a party that once touted the principles of federalism in the Constitution's 10th amendment, which reserves for the states and the people those powers not explicitly granted to the federal government."

"Whatever the result, the trend is a consequence of the consolidation of Republican control of the capital."

There's an ominous and inexplicably value-neutral pronouncement. Only "Democrats in Washington" find this hypocritical?

1. I was told by a wise man, that the Repubs had a plan.
Deregulation destroyed the jobs that belonged to the true patriots of this country. Those who believed in civil service and understood that being a public servant meant living by modest means while serving the public. These people tend to be Democrats. The point of the deregulation was to destroy the Democratic base. And now we see step 2. A revival of the system which will be favorable to Republican ideals. Which means, government regulation that benefits corporations, at the expense of the public.

2. Which also somehow means government in the bedroom and brain
and on the road or at the library.

Phoney hypocritical predators i.e., - un-American blood suckers.
