bush is losing control & he needs to get it back
sinking in the polls, increasingly less popular, no longer 'churchillian', long past the glory days of 9-11 and the 'unity' it gave us, far removed from the happy, shiny uber-patriotism, and yearning for the good ol' mission accomplished days.

THAT'S why we're all afraid.

1. Another LIHOP (or MIHOP) - take your pick
Yeah, I'm worried about it too. The further down his poll numbers go, the more likely it seems.

LIHOP: Let it happen on purpose = 9/11
MIHOP: Make it happen on purpose

...and if that doesn't work, a MIHOP. I'm sure it's being set up right now.

6. Bush is a puppet, it's the men who bankrolled Bush you should worry about
They probably already are shopping for more people to "represent" their views in Congress, the Pentagon, and the White House. Bush will eventually outlast his usefulness, and then he will be discarded much like the things we discard everyday in our consumer culture. They send out their lobbyists and their influence-peddlers every day. It seems as if they never take a break, never sleep.

You can laugh and celebrate at Bush's downfall, but while you're taking in the euphoria, they're already moving ahead with new plans.

7. exactly
bush is the shittiest frontman this country has ever had. and if the public turns on him, wishful thinking, he'll be discarded.

like reagan, all he does is read lines and put a human face on the reich, so to speak.

14. You're right. Bush is nothing but a "puppet"
and a bad one at that. For a long time, I REALLY wondered about the Puppeteers. I never really knew who they were. All I could see was their 'Front Man'. I thought, "Man, if THIS is their Customer Service Rep, then they must be REALLY bad.

I still don't have a good answer for that one. If Cheney and Bush are the best that they could do, then what does that tell me about THEM? That they're idiots, fools, thugs, mafia henchmen.

Here's who I think are the puppeteers: The CEO for General Electric, the CEO for General Dynamics, Boeing, any companies that profit from war. Also the oil company CEO's.

10. Of COURSE he's a puppet. And there is surely little to laugh about
Another reason I expect MIHOP Terraism is that the neocon fascists would really like to declare martial law, and this would give them another step in that direction.

They want perpetual fear and perpetual war - exactly as Orwell depicted in 1984.

13. Absolutely, he's a puppet. What bothers me is that they'd martyr him ...
... in an instant if the 'market research' showed it to be a way of holding onto power. A play like that around June or July of next year might be all they'd need to increase a hold on Congress.

15. Oh yes. I've thought of that too - but perhaps the blivet** is too stupid
and isolated to imagine it. He thinks he's the emperor of the world, but he's the figurehead on their sufferance, and if their "market research" indicated his "assassination by Terra-ists" --domestic or foreign -- would further their goals, he'd be toast.

Horrible. :scared: But true.

9. it really is very frightening
Although Bush is a selfish bastard who only cared about keeping the reins of power in his first term (and one-upping Poppy). Now that he can't run again, I see him thumbing his nose at his low poll ratings and taking a lot more vacations. He'll "govern" as a lame duck, because he doesn't give a crap about the American people and never has. He'll spout some insane religious rhetoric now and again from the ranch, and after his Social Security non-program crashes and burns he'll coast through this term.

At least, I hope the above scenario is right, and he won't be tempted to further warmongering or looting of the treasury, but I predict his inherent laziness will win the day.

19. I don't think Chimpy really desires power, per se.
Edited on Sun Apr-10-05 01:14 PM by TahitiNut
He has an insatiable appetite for attention - and 'power' is only a means to get it. He adores being center stage and abhors standing on the side. As a pathological narcissist, he just doesn't exist unless people react to him. It's gotta always be about him. He devours it.

Poppy is about power. Babs is about power and manipulation. Even Jeb is about power. Dickless Cheney is all about power and couldn't care less about attention - other than to manage it to serve his power. Chimpy is about attention.

22. Great analysis. I agree.
Isn't that an interesting "marriage of complementary needs". Bush and Cheney are the perfect match for each other. Bush doesn't want power but wants attention. Cheney doesn't need attention but CRAVES power, 100% 24/7.

A match made in heaven. Or.....

An "Operation Northwoods," making it look like Iran
attacked Israel or something, and then he gets to stir

24. BREAKING: President claims he was canonized by the late Pope in a secret
ceremony. The canonization occurred, according to the President, "in a secret chamber behind the Pope's living quarters. There were torches on the wall and secret code machines and everything!"

So who needs control????

25. I think Rove is decompensating or something. He lost the first part
of the SS battle. So now with the flood of articles on how Democrats are really the new Republicans and the neocons are really the new Liberals.

Apparently constantly giving out misleading and scapegoating information to the voters while you keep the good information (truth) to your own small elite is a liberal things to do or something.Ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha  Rove is decompensating!!

Rove lost!
