DeLay stinks to high heaven, but he knows all of Bush's
high crimes and misdemeanors. He's been in on everything
from the get go.

Maybe the WH had other reasons to toss Lott other than the
actual "scandal," like they wanted to install the more
compliant Frist as majority leader. But even so, Lott went
quietly off into the night

Tom DeLay doesn't strike me as another Trent Lott. He isn't
called The Hammer for nothing. He's also mean, vindictive,
egotistical, and has a persecution complex.

If DeLay's indicted and/or the stench of him becomes
politically damaging and the WH tries to force him out,
would he be just angry/crazy enough to try to take Bush
down with him?

1. He'll take down all the repugs that have accepted his dirty money
accepted his favors, accepted the jobs he got them.

And eventually he'll die and go to hell. But that's a long run perspective.

4. Are you kidding?
If the Republicans dump him, can you imagine the aftermath? Tell all book (but not tell truth book), lecture tours...DeLay has the keys to the skeleton closet, and I'm sure he will demand total support for his after-resignation career, and those who don't support him will be the subjects of anonymous releases of dirt.

You can make a pretty good living these days as a out-of-work republican icon. Look at Oliver North and Gingrich, for instance.

You know, there's no such thing as a disgraced republican. Just unjustly accused, totally innocent republicans forced out of office by the shameful acts of the Liberal Conspiricy

DeLay is a powerful man because so many House members OWE him - he got them there, and he has dirt on all of them. He may become quite vengeful if they jump ship now though - dunno, might get very interesting.

24. Do you really think he knows that much?
Don't get me wrong, I think he's one of the most disgusting people around and should be summarily dismissed...but what makes you think he knows so many dirty secrets?

Especially Bush's dirty secrets? I can see him knowing Congresspeoples' secrets more than Bush's.....

25. Oh, yes!
Men like DeLay make it their business to dig up dirt, not only on their enemys, but also their "friends". Look at J.Edgar for instance. I firmly beleive that there are people in all areas of government (as well as the private sector) that would do almost ANYTHING to stay on his good side.

2. Maybe he will write a book on the whole cabal. I hope Saddam Hussein
does...though I don't think he is allowed to write a book - you know proceeds of crime and all.

But I cannot wait for Saddam's take on the neocons in the CIA & Pentagon & Repuke WH who he has been dealing with (mostly as allies) for the last 30 years. One thing about those rule-making sociopaths.. they extract a pound of flesh from anyone they come into contact with. Perchance the 'Hammer' will do the same when he 'retires'. You know.. so he can rebuild his 'flock'. But then again the realistic me knows that there are golden parachutes all over the GOP.

He'll surround himself with his most rabid and vicious fundie friends and scream "persecution!" then sit back and watch the fight.
And maybe play a few rounds of golf.

I expect to see an untimely accident, to silence the threat? I would hope the whole sorted mess comes to light. But you all know the unforseen accidents that happen to meet people, who have the most to tell about this regime. :tinfoilhat:

20. I agree. Things could get very interesting.
I wrote on another thread that I expect him to "take a hostage, whatever it takes to keep his job in Washington". As they're prying him out the doorway, he hangs on to the moulding with his fingers.

Realistically, though, we should expect DeLay to do everything within his power to hang on. He'll be loud, he'll be boisterous, point accusing fingers at everyone possible.

After all, that's how he got to where he is today: by being a brash, obnoxious street fighter. We should expect nothing less.

I will be watching with great interest over the next few weeks.:smoke:

9. He's served his usefulness
Somehow, I'm sure Delay's managed to hide a few bucks under the mattress, with just such an eventuality in mind. Getting rid of Delay won't undo the wrong that's been done. Remember, his illegal funneling of out of state funds to Texas republican legislative candidates allowed the pugs to take over the Texas state house, which in turn led to the redistricting scandal, which in turn greatly facilitated republican congressional victories in 2004. Sure, he's history, but I think he'll be laughing all the way to the bank.

26. I'm starting to think DeLay has the same weak heel that
Nixon had. It wasn't Nixon's dirty deeds that got him
so much as his paranoia.

DeLay's comments about the "liberal media" being out to get
him and the liberals trying to "destroy the conservative
movement by destroying me" lead me to believe he's not all
there up there.

I'd agree with you about the rest of the bastards, but
this particular bastard is leaving clues that are making
me go "Hmmm."

He could be the next Oliver North. He'll be the symbolic guns to North's weekly celebration of death. See Fox News Host Tom Delay's new bi-daily show: "Judicial Tyranny: An End to Justice" It will bump Gretta Van Sustern (spelling?) He will rise in the rankings of poor southerners whose cable channels have been stripped of all content; where nothing is left but HGTV, MTV, and Fox News. But he will fall again. Oh will he fall again. And the second time, well I'll keep that a secret. Don't want to spoil the ending. a hint: it has something to do with his daughter and some roach killer edited to add: joke: hence the --->bwwwaaaaaahhhhaaaahhhaaa!

Bye bye Thomas.

I'd say, he's likely to meet an untimely death of tragic circumstances. He'll probably be so despondent over these unfair political attacks :sarcasm: that he'll no longer be able to live with the discrace and shoot himself in the back of the head 30 minutes after he dies from an overdose of painkillers.
