Read and remember the next time you "dine"? at McDonalds
Some get burger, some a whopper

Irony.

Webster's New World Dictionary defines it as "a combination of circumstances or a result that is the opposite of what is or might be expected or considered appropriate." It lists, for example, a firehouse burning down.

Now, compliments of McDonald's Corp., the world's largest purveyor of fast food, Webster's can add a bigger, better example of irony.

It goes like this: A multibillion-dollar corporation that fiercely resisted paying even a pittance of a death benefit to the family of a low-paid restaurant manager killed on the job turned around and happily paid more than $5 million in after-death bonuses and perks to the families of two of its top executives.

"... the opposite of what is... considered appropriate."

1. I haven't eaten at McDonald's since they raised their prices
by about $1.50 for a extra value meal (from $2.99 to $4.49). I can get real food for less than that.

The dude was obviously enjoying the food for the first week.

13. I think some guy named Pavlov explored that phenomenon.
He called it the "Big Mac Attack" theory.

(But of course, it's only a theory)

at the feet of an evil corporate leviathan like McDonalds? Interesting.

8. haven't "dined" at one since reading Fast Food Nation
between their use of disgusting tainted beef, the poor sanitary and working conditions, not to mention their greedy anti-worker/anti-union mentality, and leadership role in the systematic corporatization of the country, I haven't passed through the golden arches in over four years . . .

11. i haven't set foot in a mcdonalds...
...for probably close to 8 years. haven't eaten anything from one in more than 14.

mcdonalds serves rotten food and is a rotten corporate entity that should not be encouraged.

15. Haven't eaten at McD's....
....since I ordered a chicken parmesean sandwich (limited time only, you know), and I got a raw chicken patty covered in tomato sauce. And I don't mean "pink in the middle", this baby hadn't SEEN heat.

17. here is my personal testimony, since i'm a fast food worker
i work at wendy's.

i could write for paragraphs. but that would be boring, and i've done it before, without getting much interest. so i'll sum it all down into two sentences:

Don't eat fast food. For god's sake, don't do it!

23. haha
well, sometimes we do get a good chuckle out of people eating our food...and not always knowing what they are eating.

once late at night we through the bacon out...and someone ordered a junior bacon. so we got that bacon out of the trash can, and gave the man what he wanted.

i guess i kind of feel bad about it, but you don't know the kind of shit we have to deal with. especially really late at night.

21. McDonald's
Apparently in my area McDonald's is now paying their employee's a higher wage....$6.50 an hour. However now their employees have to wear ties. Well I guess that counts as a high paying job now.

24. i started at 6.50 at wendy's
that's one thing about wendy's, they pay a little bit higher.

i'm asking for a raise soon though. i've been working there for nearly a year, and the policy is a review and raise every 6 months, if you deserve it. i always show up on time, never call off, always work extra hours when they ask, and really work my ass off for the company. i work at the number 1 sales wendy's in our district, and one of the top wendy's in the country.
