Please tell me something hopeful. Please?
Give me specific instances of some hope for us, all of us and not just dems, but the repugs, too, that is happening. Right now...well...right now I am not feeling particularly optomistic about things.

I trust this will pass. I want it to pass.

So share something real and substantive with some hope in it. I need it, and I have a feeling there are some others here that do as well.

1. here's what we CAN hope for.
we can hope for all of us who feel this way can rise up together and stop the bullshit. I'm certain that there are those on the other side who feel the same way.

5. Oh. There are. More w/each Passing Day.
Countless and that's just the ones I know of, as well as family and friends alike whom say 9 out of 10 Bu$h voters are sincerely, and yes, sickened they didn't vote for Kerry.

3. The Bolton Nomination Committee Meeting This Past Week
Watching Senators Biden, Dodd, Boxer, Kerry, Sarbanes, and (R) Voinivech (pardon spelling) passionately stand-up, adamantly against the Bolton Nomination, (R) Lugar, and the disgrace going-on in a whole gave me some hope because they meant it, with convictions.

I knew without a doubt we had true, strong believers up on that craggy, wicked hill whom were sincerely angry, appalled, disgusted, fed-up like never before.

I didn't feel alone with my thoughts any longer. I Know it's not going to change a damn thing, but at least all Americans including Republicans do have some, though only a few, but some representatives fighting for all of us.

4. Summer is almost here
bask in the mystique of summer. imagine sandlot baseball, picnics in the park, days at the beach, the ice cream man, staying out late to catch fireflys under the starry sky, driving with the top down... Everyone, liberal and conservative alike, can enjoy summer.

6. Thanks to all of you.
I think that all of us can agree on one thing: we need a clear win. Clear and unambiguous. Bolton will be a good win and very appropriate, but we need more than that.

7. We didn't get a tax refund .... we had to pay .....
We're slef employed. We almost always have to pay, even after making our quarterly estimateds. Last year, we got a refund. That meant our income was down. Ths year, we had to pay. That meant our income went up.

Lopsided hopefulness, maybe ... but I saw it as a good thing.

8. the docs from the JFK assassination come out in about 30 years.
I have been pretty down, I'm having scary health issues, but if it turns out not to be something life-threatening then this alone gives me reason to stick around.

9. This, too, shall pass away. . .
Abraham Lincoln was fond of quoting this story. . .

It is said an Eastern monarch once charged his wise men to invent him a sentence to be ever in view, and which should be true and appropriate in all times and situations. They presented him the words,

"And this, too, shall pass away."

How much it expresses! How chastening in the hour of pride! How consoling in the depths of affliction!

And this, too, shall pass away.

10. One good thing: People are going to begin to think locally
as in, finding produce and growing their own produce and making their own products and trading in a more localized manner.

More people will investigate alternative fuels, like bio-diesel.

People will be brought together and communities will become stronger as neighbors get to know one another.

Another good thing: My aunt, who was a very staunch * supporter, seems to have lost the thrill. You have NO idea what this means...
