Condoleezza Rice was a failure as National Security Advisere and is now a failure as Secretary of State. When right wingers were touting her as a "brilliant scholar" I researched her background to see what she's actually written. As it turns out, she hasn't produced much scholarly work at all.
She got a lot of help with her Ph.D. dissertation at the University of Denver. This is the only book length work for which she can claim sole authorship. Her one other significant scholarly work was co-authored by an ambitious underling, Philip Zelikow. It's possible he did the writing and she stuck her name on it.
