Maybe it was because he spent 6 HOURS at the White House the day the launch was to take place, according to the RAWSTORY timeline.

Though Bush had given a 48 hour warning two days earlier, nobody in the media expected the attack to be launched literally 48 hours later, as it was (ABC's Peter Jennings was off at some party or something, so unconcerned was he about the looming deadline, that it took the ABC News staff something like 45 minutes to get on the air that night).

Except Gannon. He knew four hours early -- basically by the time he left the White House that day, after his incredibly long 6-hr stay.

Two hours later he posted on Free Republic about getting the scoop on the CBS story. Hmmmm.

The Valerie Plame story is the big one, IMHO. And if Gannon was posting on FR from the Whitehouse (as I saw on a post here last night), that would seem to indicate that he was getting his marching orders from some high-level WH official.

Maybe he took his laptop in and somebody with more brains than he seems to have, did the writing on his laptop that went to Free Republic and to his Talon Website.

Somebody like Rove, maybe?

Didn't someone point out that in some of Gannon's postings he wasn't very literate?

So maybe to get it right on the Talon site and on FR, it needed to come straight from the horse's mouth. For that, Gannon and his laptop would need to have been at the White House.

All this obsession with Gannon's sexuality does distract and gives the corporate media cover as I will say the homosexual angle is revolting and makes them want to ignore the story, not pay attention to it. Turning it into a tawdry tale of Jeff and Scotty and whomever does more to turn people off of this story than to turn them on.

There's some characters in this story who've all but escaped much scrutiny...Morton Blackwell, the Eberles, Arthur Finkelstein and others who run the well-known right wing media that found Gunkert, turned him into Gannon, got him access and now protects him from being exposed for the partisan plant he is.

Now if someone could connect the dots of how Gunkert to to Blackwell's school and from there to Talon, I'll bet you also find some very nice inroads to Robert Novak (Plame)...since Blackwell's "Journalism School" Gunkert attended claimed to be "taught" by Novak's "investigative reporters".

Sorry, the sexual angle on this story is a major boat anchor.

During the impeachment efforts...Drudge was the designated guy to drop or float the dirt and Monica news. I'm not sure, but it seemed like Drudge was an independent who was sympathetic to the right wing agenda, but equally interested in Hollywood and his time had gone with Clinton gone.

Perhaps they were grooming Talon News/Gannon under the umbrella of GOPUSA to drop and float the dirt and news.

Though we're not sure how the dirt gets to Fox, it would seem that Ailes would be called direct or it could go through the cousin that works for Fox...but maybe this is how they disseminate some of it to build up Talon News. (They sure built him and TN up in the WH press briefings).

On the other hand...maybe Jeff and Sean are buddies.
