Reading Andrew Sullivan is like watching bad Karaoke...
You're embarrassed for the person, but still can't turn away because it's too compelling a spectacle to watch someone plumb the depths of human shame. Honestly, has there ever been a person more wishy washy yet completely desparate to be accepted by a group of people as he is with conservatives. Honestly the way he bends over backwards to be fair and praise the right and republicans, even as he's bitching and moaning about them is hysterically deluded, yet even the slightest infraction from the left is deemed much worse.

The worst was when he commented on the left's white washing of Rachel Corrie, meanwhile he spent countless weeks and untold amount of words mythologizing the death of Theo Van Gogh who was by all accounts pretty much an extremist.

Again, I know how horrible he is, yet I can't turn away. I guess he just personifies that breed of people I know in real life who like to consider themselves reasonable centrists, yet bend over backwards to find acceptable behavior and reasoning in even the most abhorent words and actions from the republican party while decrying even the most innocuous infractions from the left/democrats.

1. Yeah, he's losing his edge.
He's going to that place where old drag queens go when the spot lights are too harsh on their cragged faces.

3. It's comical....
Glenn Reynolds could write that all liberals need to be locked up and that we should be a theocracy and Sullivan would write "Glenn is an honest, good, and reasonable man, so golly gee I really hate to point this out but maybe he's not seeing the whole picture."

Kos could write "Based off of the facts as shown by this research here and this exact quote here, said on these dates, this shows that the president was not telling the truth." and he would decry it as "The left sinks even lower!".
