3. Remember how Dubya was considered a "lame duck" in his first term...
...before 9/11? I just think there will come a time when they panic, and when they panic they will pull some bad stunts that will unfortunately destroy many lives.

6. How exactly?
Many people are ripe for a backfire interpretation but they will be shouted down in the opposite. The typical GOP daring to make roses out of excrement and vice versa is only a matter of degree.

LIHOP is so obvious NOW if only by stingy incompetence and how is anything prepared to backfire? The sole plus for Bush is that we have not been attacked, therefore he has been doing a good job- all evidence to the contrary notwithstanding. A terrorist hit here and a sea change happens. A sea change Rove is planning for and NOT our side, and certainly not the masses.

Something will happen, might not be what is expected, but the question comes up: Does it have to?

They were preparing for war in Iraq without 911. They get away with everything without much real hindrance. They don't need to feel popular, just opposable. But it would also seem they are confident of the public being forced to rally behind them and then the rest of the only partially stalled agenda to be swept along.

The desultory press conference effort is just tokenism to firm up their personal comfort zone. it hardly seems to matter so expect the big crisis to happen in the next few months.

And I see the opposition fractured into fighting issue battles all over the map, totally unprepared and ineffective to fight or interpret the inevitable.

We are wide open to disaster and also what does the WH really care? Bush seems happier and relaxed than he was a month before stealing the 2004 election. He was also relaxed at the beginning of the Iraq War and shortly before November 5th when they were at last confident the fix was sealed.

2. They are going to need a real terror attack, not a false report, this time

5. Just as soon as they have their plan in place to
"get out of harm's way. The plan includes pResident Bunnypants and the "ones' who would do harm to us." :silly: Kinda like that never to be found Osama guy.
