Friedman of NY Times proposes POPPY for U. N. Job
My biggest problem with nominating John Bolton as U.N. Ambassador boils down to one simple fact: He's not the best person for the job--not even close. If President Bush wants a die-hard Republican at the UN, one who has a conservative pedigree he can trust, who is close to the president, who can really build coalitions, who knows the UN building and bureaucracy inside out, who can work well with the State Departmentand who has the respect of American's friends and foes alike, the choice is obvious, and it's not John Bolton.

It's George H.W. Bush, aka 41. No one would make a better UN amabassador for Bush 43 than Bush 41.

http://www.nytimes.com/top/opinion/editorialsandoped/oped/columnists/thomaslfriedman/index.html

He ends the piece writing, "President 43 only needs to call home to find the right man for the job in President 41. And if 41 isn't available, well, then maybe he should try his sidekick, 42."

(sorry but to see full editorial you would have to register.

4. Can T.F. see the flat earth from his vantage point of Poppy's rear end?
When is he ever going to quit being a brown noser?

6. He is too old, and he has done that job already
Give it to Clinton, let him schmooze the folk, and then let him take over for Kofi.

17. Well one can dream...it ain't gonna be Poppy either....
...he is too strung out, tired, greedy and old to be in public service even if it is to whip the U.N. into shape. He doesn't even go on speaking tours any more does he?

13. I'd be okay with 41
In fact, I'd urge both of my Senators to confirm him. He already has the necessary relationships built with world leaders.

14. bolton is perfect
He's such an ass, 4 years will go by without any cooperation at all,
and the legacy of the 44, will be nothing much.

Jerry Falwell would be even better, or Pat Robertson. What we need to
do is help them promote their most ideological, outrageous, lying bigots
to posts of great importance, so they can demonstrate to the american
people and the world at large, what they're really about.

Dennis Miller would be a great choice as well! ;-)

while he is knowledgable, he was for the war, and brought a lot of support with him. Proably is in with the neocon crowd in secret like a lot of the democrats are
