1. Samantha B
Can I say that the shit they give
Samantha Bee to do is awful...maybe
it just isn't funny when a woman does
the crude stuff...I don't know.

4. Oh, thank you!
I thought it was me, because I've never thought she was funny.

6. Not True!!

Ok, don't know how this could this possibly be more subjective, But...

I think she's a scream!! As I've been cable-less for sometime now, I haven't seen anything she's done lately, but some of her stuff in the past, er, e.g. the skit on undecided voters; one bit involving some homophobic meathead in Florida... brilliant ;)

Robert

P.S. I wish Stacy Grenrock-Woods would come back--she's a serious cutie.

10. If you haven't seen her lately,
you don't know how bad she is.

Actually, the concept of "cutie" in any comedian, male or female, doesn't go very far if the delivery isn't any good.

12. Hmmm, I guess it's a matter of "to each, his own"
regarding Samantha Bee. I had just been thinking that her stuff was getting better and better lately....I have been laughing out loud at how "right on" her skits are. Maybe I have a skewed sense of humor? I like the hell out of her bits.

13. Another Samantha fan
her interview with the homophobe concerning "gay penguins" was incredibly funny.

15. It's coffee. It's meant to be hot.
I love Samantha Bee's work. Her and Lewis Black are the only consistantly enjoyable segments in the show IMO.

The recent, "Hall of Same", the sketch concerning Bush's Town Hall meetings, is brilliant satire. I'm puzzled why people wouldn't like her to be honest.

5. I think they each do their own bits
I mean, I don't know this, but there's got to be a reason Steven Colbert is by far the funniest (and Samantha Bee is not)...

11. I think there is a list of writers....
they must be earning their money somehow...

Anyway we've seen good female comedians
and they don't have to mimic the other
male comedians to be funny.

7. This was either the wrong place to post, or the hell with ya!
I fight against the assholes I love to hate, but I LOVE John Stewart, Martin Short, Bill Maher, and all you folks that don't think these people have something to say.

8. Martin Short's characterization of himself is true
funny for 1/2 hour once in the 80s...

16. To each his or her own, I guess...
His Male Synchronized Swimming bit with Harry Shearer on SNL was one of the funniest things I've ever seen on TV.

And you guys didn't get the really good SCTV stuff. The NBC Network 90 thing wasn't nearly as good as the 1/2 hour shows broadcast in Canada.

Sid
