Col. Hackworth died?
Just caught a brief bit on the Frankin show.....

If it's true, I'm very sorry to hear it. The American military man had no better advocate or person who cared enough to fight for them.

8. I'm sorry to hear this. He called Rummy an "asshole," which was being kind

Who knew he was even ill...

He was 74, one of the most decorated veterans in U.S. history.

Hackworth served four tours of duty in Vietnam and was one of the first senior officers to speak out publicly against the Vietnam War. He was nearly court-martialed before he retired from the military in 1971 and gave up his medals in protest.

He moved to Australia and made millions in a restaurant business and a duck farm. His medals were reissued by Brig. Gen. John Howard in the 1980s and he returned to the United States.

"...seeking treatment in Mexico..."
Geez - one can infer that doesn't speak well of US healthcare available for veterans anymore...

12. Condolences and a prayer
Hackworth.com has been a wonderful resource for me personally in dealing with issues related to my family. He has always been awesome and will be missed.

This prayer link is on his site and I just want to add it here as part of my prayers for the American military in its loss of this real hero.

17. Is he the man that was always talking to Hannity on TV and on
Edited on Thu May-05-05 01:44 PM by frankly_fedup2
Hannity's radio show? They were friends until Hannity kept pushing the war and this military man said there was no reason for lives to be lost just because b*** said they had found WMD's because he knew that was not true. He also was vividly angry at Hannity and hung up or something. After that, I never heard anything about this man.

Was it that Colonel Hackworth? I hope they will let this man rest in peace.
