Lawmakers won't change decision on abortion-related program
An attempt to reconsider the earlier vote to spend $500,000 on the program supported by Nebraska Right to Life and other anti-abortion groups failed with 14 senators voting in favor and 27 against. It needed 25 yes votes to succeed.

I really like this quote!

If anti-abortion senators want a symbolic victory for their cause, Lincoln Sen. Dave Landis urged that it be done for a lesser cost.

"You don't get to be conservative and pro-life when you spend half a million dollars on something we already do," he said. "Can we buy our symbolism just a little cheaper?"
