The Story that will not go Away
This morning Democracy Now reported on the Pat Tillman story. It seems that she reported things that the media had already reported. She is not the only one to do this. It seems that every few months some news story mentions the findings as if they were new. Why do news orginization keep reporting this story as if it were a new story? I am not trying to bash the media for reporting this story, I just do not understand why they keep reporting the same news. I just do not see how any of what they are reporting is new.

1. I think it's because the Army recently admitted Tillman's
cause of death wasn't immediately reported, though the friendly fire was known about as soon as it happened.

2. How do you know everything in the new 1600 page army report?
How do you know everything in the new 1600 page army report?
It hasn't been officially released yet.

It's in the news specifically because a new 1600 page army report came out, and what's in it is even pissing off republicans.
Also, I just talked to someone yesterday who saw it on drudge,
it was the first time he heard that tillman was killed by friendly fire.
So even the old news is new news to a lot of people.

The army is doing damage control,
they only dribble out damaging information a little at a time,
that's why it keeps coming back into the news.

The family has seen the report, and they think there is more to come.

Ariz. lawmakers upset with report on Tillman

Billy House
Republic Washington Bureau
May. 5, 2005 12:00 AM

WASHINGTON - Arizona members of Congress said Wednesday they are disturbed that a new military report shows the U.S. Army may have not only misled former NFL player Patrick Tillman's family and public about his friendly fire death but also destroyed evidence.

<snip>

As of Wednesday, however, the Army still had not publicly released the 1,600-page report of its investigation, including comments from interviews with soldiers who were with Tillman when he died. The investigation was in response to questions raised last fall by Tillman's family.

<snip>

However, three weeks ago, Pat Tillman Sr. told The Arizona Republic that he remained dissatisfied with the Army's investigation into his son's death. At that time, he would not elaborate on a newly completed report the Army had provided to him and other members of the family.

4. Heard It All
I have heard just about everything that has been reported on the news. Many of the things being reported on the news have been reported before and were reported on months after they happened. So that is how I know what is in the report. I just do not really see anything new in the report.
