I am truly tired of being acused of fraud. I am fighting for my life here. Today I was slam dunked by the hospital...by a freeper and by this person. I will be mor than happy to return his $10. I would rather do that...and keep my integrity than not to and have someone think I am a fraudster. There is only one person I can think of that might possibly be behind this campaign and I think we all know who that is. I am so tired of being sick. It is beginning to take a major toll on me. I have given every fiber of my being to fair auditable elections...I, as sick as I am went to Ohio this past weekend to give others some of the knowledge I have...at great detriment to my health. I cannot believe a low count poster could have stirred up so much shit around me.

Yes my surgery was cancelled this AM because the certified checks Termite sent...sat on the manager of the mail facility's desk. Financial Services was either too lazy or busy to call and ask if they were there. Hell the damned things beat me to Baltimore. Believe me I did not do a bowel flush yesterday for fun. So if anyone here has a problem...thinks I am a fraud...wants their money back...say the word. I am an honest man and I would rather DIE with my good name intact than to take a dime from anyone that thinks I defrauded them. I am just that kind of guy.

To those that helped me...Skinner has the information to verify that I am a patient at Hopkins and I assume his silence this evening means he was not able to reach their office. Thank you everyone that did donate and thanks to Miss Waverly (who works at Hopkins) for putting Termite and I up tonight and for "as long as we need" a place to stay. She gave me her key this afternoon and suprise suprise...her house and all her valuables are still intact. Thanks Scubed...who wrote a personal check to cover the shortfall ($10,800)which was held by paypal yesterday...I did not use the check...but scubed made sure I had it in case I needed it. It is still in my wallet...not the actions of a fraudster...A true con artist would have gone straight to the bank cashed the check and absconded with the cash. I guess I am a dumb fraudster, perhaps I was in a diabetic haze.

So here is the result of MrNiceGuyIsDead's post and there are many others that I need to deal with now. This one was just the first one in the inbox. Let me know now if you want your money back...because in a few days I may not be able to ensure you get it back quickly as I will be healing...or trying to.

Like you said the other night, we're about the same age - so this probably isn't your first experience with pain. When I've had to deal with physical pain, I remember some tricks my mother taught us. (She was a nurse.) I once had a kidney stone - a zero on the severity scale but an 11 for pain!

As I've aged, I've realized they all had to do with separating yourself from the pain - through visualization and distracting your thoughts from the pain - listen to your favorite music, books on tape, Garrison Keillor (sp?)for example.

Also, make yourself as comfortable as possible. When all else fails, don't forget to laugh.

I hope the good folks here helped to soothe the emotional pain. The physical pain is a toughie. After going through nearly four years of chronic pain, I can tell you that ohtransplant's advice is pretty good. There's a switch inside that can shut off the pain to some degree, but at times it is overwhelming, anyway.

After surgery, make sure your friends sit on the nurses if they don't give you enough painkillers. You aren't going to want to move for awhile. No doubt about that. For most patients, morphine is good shit. Supposedly, it helps you compartmentalize the pain. After I got a good wallop of morphine on the day after my surgery, I felt ready to do backflips. It's been over two weeks now and the pain is subsiding nicely

However, your surgery is much more invasive. I read about the Whipple procedure to see what will be happening. Ouch. Make sure your friends / family are there to intervene on your behalf. Pain management is really important.

If you're still awake, it's 1:24 a.m. PST, my friend. I hope you can sleep now. And about the lemony, salty bowel blaster...read my advice on how to swallow it so you taste it less, above. :)

I was so completely disgusted by the behavior allowed here at DU today that I had to respond when I read the "Andy situation thread" (whatever the hell that means). This is what I said:

And am thinking, how utterly disrespected I was and Andy was by John Hopkins admin all along the road to here. Because we had no corporate stamp of approval from Blue Cross. Wow, here it is, my 1,000th post. Only took me 3 years to get it. OK, I'm a bit slow, what can I say. As I was pondering what words of wisdom to write on this auspicious occasion, I thought of several topics. Bush? Iraq? Abortion? Social Security? A kitty thread in the Lounge? No. I want to talk about what I've witnessed in the past week in regards to Andy's fight to raise funds for his cancer surgery.

I don't know Andy, although I read all his posts religiously. When it was first mentioned about his cancer and lack of insurance, I started sending him money every payday, to help with his medical bills and living expenses. Andy has done SO much for all of us, I couldn't sit back and just let him die without a fight! Then, when crunch time came and it was announced Andy needed $25,000 within 2-3 days, I gave again. I'll give again next payday, to raise the other $17,000 he needs to pay for this surgery.

I saw the DU community pull together like I never have before. With all the fighting and squabbling that goes on in certain topics, *coughabortiongaymarriagereligioncough* I was astounded when we raised that 25K in 48 hours or so. I have been an activist for a very long time, and I have NEVER seen anything like that. Besides giving Andy a chance for life, I think it also did something for DU. It gave us HOPE. Hope that we are not just some nameless, faceless entity behind a computer screen who no one cares about. Hope that contrary to popular belief, we CAN make a difference. Hope that if we put as much energy into other issues as we did for Andy's cause, NOTHING COULD STOP US. Say it out loud. NOTHING COULD STOP US.

So next time someone asks you to help out for a worthy cause, before saying "I'm just one person, my help won't make a difference," stop and think of what we did and are continuing to do for Andy. WE CAN MAKE A DIFFERENCE.

I urge everyone to donate to Andy to help him get his needed surgery. It's a matter of life and death.

I was so angry yesterday that I went and donated $10 more and I noticed throughout the day that others were giving, via Amazon at least where you can see the donations coming in. In fact, the person who donated after me donated the limit: $50! So, troll actually had the opposite effect! Many of us were so mad that we donated more money, more prayers, and more positive energy!
